Having recently moved and just getting to know the neighbours, was speaking to one last night who told me his dad played for Rochdale - Peter Green - in the 50s. He was also a cricketer.

We've never had a first team player called Peter Green.
Our only 'Green' in the 1950s was Brian Green, who later went on to become manager.
Peter Green became the founder of Fleetwood Mac, but it's probably a different one....

Played cricket against Peter a few times, he was a canny slow- medium bowler... He lived in a house close to the Walsden ground . Rochdale player Wilson Hartley notably hit him for six over square leg ... and straight through Peters bedroom window! Peter was a lovely fellow and an excellent story teller after a game, but it took a brave man to mention the window...especially to his wife! [Post edited 9 Aug 23:08]

I saw them at Castleton Moor once in the 1960s with four Connor brothers in the team.
