Obviously the opening day defeat in the manner it happened has dampened some of the early season optimism...
The Dale faithful will be loud and proud on Saturday... Everybody at the club wants to enjoy the return to the EFL. It will be a really special day.
I am looking forward to Saturday already, a reversal of last weeks poor performance and our 26/27 season up and running by 5pm.
Bring it on.. 7 days is a long time in football!

We will need the Dale faithful, and the players will need them doubly so.
In my humble opinion we are suffering mainly due to lack of forward movement from midfield. I recall there were many matches last season where we had less shots on goal than the opposition, but our conversion was very good. Opposing keepers rarely had too much work to do. In the later matches , when pressed in midfield we were not half as effective.
Messrs East and Gilmore need to up their game. They both have League 2 experience and at 27/28 should be at their peak. | | | |

Subbed off together on 70 mins and replaced by Messrs Wilson and Francis suggests the Management agree with your last point.
Having said that, no other players in the starting X1 were any better.

I didn’t go Tranmere, Bradford or Newport. Watched all of them on the TV. For me, this Saturday is the day I have been waiting for. I mean, as far as Crawley goes, it wasn’t quite the mouth watering home tie I craved with a big away following. But regardless, I left the place dreaming of what could be following the Scunthorpe game and the obvious heartbreak after the York game. The atmosphere at both was electric. If we bring that on Saturday we can be a force. We are back in the EFL - with proper fixtures, major improvements, shiny new pitch and loaded fries.
I would guess we are at about 3,300 season tickets. A gate of 3,500 home fans is a stride forwards. Three points against Newport would probably have seen a few more through the gates but nevertheless, we all dreamed of this day and all felt it slipping away. We must enjoy it. It’s a new dawn and one we will embrace. Ian Watson and the team are in for a treat and I think we will get the reaction we want. [Post edited 18 Aug 18:55]

There won't be any lack of support or desire from the stands. Whatever's gone on in training this week, when the lads emerge from the tunnel they'll be in no doubt as to what our home means to us [Post edited 18 Aug 19:00]
