We were in a better place as a country then ( and that was bad) than it is now , wouldn't you agree .Trump wasn't so dismissive if the UK as he is now and trade wars have always existed in one form or another , now our security as a country is at its lowest since the early the mid 70's and falling .

I think we have to placate Trump until he finishes then work with the new incumbent. He's treated Canada worse than us and many european countries have had the same rubbish put on them.

it would seem most of those eligible to be conscripted would agre with you. IMO nothing wrong in obtaining discipline either imposed or self and providing a service to the country as well as for some learning a much needed trade .Maybe thats the reason some today seem so feckless because of not being disciplined ?

Why have you brought Mark Drakeford into this.? He was a solid administrator who balanced the book every year.
A decent bloke not corrupt and still lives in his community. He supported the unpaid voluntary sector which provided a support for people in trouble.

The Welsh Government cannot borrow. It is an interesting model and why cannot it be applied to Westminster? Excluding genuine investment .
It could be applied to Welsh areas of responsibility transport Education and Health. "That's all you getting get on with it" . "Drakeford over a Wales did it".

Why? Because Drakeford (otherwise known as the "Titan of Welsh politics") governance and standards was described as a 'blueprint'? And it looks very much Labour at Westminster is achieving those standards and following that blueprint!

There's a wider point here as well. The US is due to replace the Pratt & Whitney engines on the B52s with Rolls Royce F130 engines. Will this boost to the UK economy still go ahead?
