Hughes - worst ever Y/N 18:39 - Jan 14 with 5744 views | stuabd | After Clive's match report where he said that Hughes was possibly the worst manager we've ever had, what do you think? Given the resources and time, I'd say... Yes! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 19:55 - Jan 14 with 942 views | markqpr | No. Mullery just shaves it for me. He was handed a truly great side and f*cked it up instantly. Hughes is just an inept con man, Mullery was a destroyer.

Mullery for me too. He took a fantastic team and turned them into shite, and he also talked out of his arse.
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:00 - Jan 14 with 930 views | CHUBBS | Yes Hughes with the other poor managers a distance behind jostling for 2nd. Not only was he the worst pound for pound manager we've ever had,he created a new record for the poorest start by a team in the Premier league. If you consider some of the shit teams that have been in it,that takes some doing. His away record should have got him sacked all on its own,not forgetting the fact he brought in 2 goalkeepers on Champions League wages. Then after all HIS failings,he tried to distance himself from blame claiming he couldn't have done any more. A truly sickening man who HR has already shown up in his brief spell with our club.
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:03 - Jan 14 with 920 views | Toast_R | Wilkins was the fans choice and he took the job with his heart. Sadly in hindsight it was a bad decision, his inexperience is what cost QPR so dear in the end. There's absolutely nothing positive to take from Hughes's reign that I can think of.
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:05 - Jan 14 with 918 views | xistens_pet | Does Paul Hart not get an honorary mention? It was only a month but the team that went out against Peterborough was something to forget and was easily the lowest period of that silly season.
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:05 - Jan 14 with 916 views | Gloucs_R | One thing I dont get about Hughes and co. Mike Rigg. He came to use with this story about how they have a file on the players they want to sign, how investigators look at their lifestyles, etc etc.....OK, so how the feck did we think Mbia was a CB, AJ would go a season without getting injured, Park hadnt lost his legs and Bosingwa was her for something other than the money?

easy the bloke is a conman just like that load of old guff about it takes hughes side 35 games to get going him, jia and his mates have really done a number on old Tony
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:08 - Jan 14 with 911 views | WanderR | Warnock left us in 17th place which is where Hughes ended up at the end of last season. I don't see why Warnock would have done any worst and strictly speaking it was Peter Crouch who kept us up when it came down to it. Interestingly though, just looking at the stats, Hughes just has the edge over Sousa in terms of games won. Someone mentioned Mick Harford - don't think we should be including caretakers in this. Plus if you add his two stints together, he didn't do too badly and I don't remember thinking ill of him at the time; the opposite in fact. In terms of permanent managers, Paul Hart has to be up there, if only as the epitome of the farcical Tango & Cash era. Only lasted five games and was booed off the pitch after the only game that he actually won.

i was meaning more ray harford anyone who was there at the manor ground that day will testify to that never forget the balls up between lee harper, karl ready and maddix resulting in a 50 yard daisy cutter that took 5 hours to hit the net also he got rid of sinclair & brevett and gave us rowland & dowie nuff said !!!

Hughes - worst ever Y/N (n/t) on 18:47 - Jan 14 by ElHoop | No, i don't think he is the worst. He kept us up last season, which Warnock wouldn't have done. So if we hadn't have appointed Hughes, then we wouldn't have a chance of staying up this season either because i reckon we'd be down already. Wilkins, for starters, must be worse than Hughes was. |
how do you know Warnock wouldn;t have kept us up, Hughes only won 6 games to keep us up, nothing to suggest Warnock couldn't have managed that. Wilkins was a better manager imo, Hughes did a dreadful job, worst ever imo, made Paul Hart look sensible
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:31 - Jan 14 with 864 views | BAWHoops | Yes. Pound for pound the worst manager. He waltzed in last January with us hovering above relegation and was given a blank chequebook to keep us up. He signed Zamora, Onouha, Cisse, Diakite. Of that lot only Cisse and Diakite for 2 games made a positive contribution to our survival fight. In the end he turned to Hill, Derry, Mackie and Taarabt to save us after his signings were hit and miss. Regardless we stayed up... just. He achieved the absolute bare minimum considering the money he had spent. Then came the summer. Once again given an absolute pot load of cash, more than any QPR manager ever. Sensible scouting and due diligence could have secured us Diame, Michu, Ki, Olsson etc etc. Instead Hughes decided that older players on big money for low transfer fees was the answer. Yes players like Rodriguez at Soton cost a lot of money, but their low wages mean that over time they are nowhere near as expensive as Zamora. Pre season was a joke. Helguson, Campbell, Smith all sold or loaned out because their faces didn't fit with the new shiny QPR. Replaced with old, disinterested players. He wasn't unlucky that Zamora and Johnson got injured, anyone with a brain could have told you that they were injury prone. I could have told you that paying Hoillet 80 grand a week would kill his desire and drive. I could have told you that signing a keeper then replacing him after 1 game would kill off any loyalty in the squad. I could have told you that making a brand new player club captain over the previous player of the season and dedicated pro was a cause for unrest. I could have told you that Djibril Cisse was good if completely unreliable. Hughes believed his own hype. He forgot to build a cake and just threw a load of icing on a plate. Make no mistake he will set the club back 10 years unless we perform a miracle and survive. No manager has ever ruined our club like Hughes has. Mark Hughes is the worst manager in our history

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:35 - Jan 14 with 854 views | jamois | Yes. It was the comments about there being nothing more that he could do; his 6am head-scratching dog-walks. It enabled me to reach the considered conclusion that he was, is and remains, utterly deluded.

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:36 - Jan 14 with 851 views | CiderwithRsie | Dreadful though I thought Harford and Burtenshaw were, I think its between Mullery and Hughes, cos as Watford rightly says Mullery inherited a team that could have challenged for the title and screwed it right up, and Hughes was given massive resources and didn't really need to do much more than get into lower mid-table to be ranked a success. Plus, look how much better the same players are under Redknapp. That's not just the old Champ players such as Derry, Hill and Mackie but also the likes of Mbia Onuaha and even SWP. It's a tough call but the fact that Hughes made a small fortune out of us purely for getting lucky last season swings it for me
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:39 - Jan 14 with 845 views | derbyhoop | Maybe not the worst but defintely bottom 5. Mullery, Wilkins, Harford, Phart. We've certainly had some crackers.

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:43 - Jan 14 with 822 views | Juzzie | In the grand scheme of things, yes. He was given the biggest resources by far of probably any manager in our history (clean slate over the summer... "build my team" etc) and made an utter gash of it.
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:48 - Jan 14 with 816 views | THEBUSH | Taking the OP's point, of time and resources/money, it must be Hughes.
Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 20:50 - Jan 14 with 809 views | ElHoop | Not sure why having the most money to spend makes him the worst manager. would Mullery or Hart have kept us up last season with twice as much to spend? Did he have the most to spend anyway, or was he told to spend on wages rather than fees?

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 19:51 - Jan 14 by HollowayRanger | hughes has had more resourses at his disposal then all the QPR managers of the past put together and yet we went an entire year without an away win we went god knows how many games without any wins at all he left us with a lop sided squard woefully short of strikers and my great fear is that the damage he did to QPR has only just started unless Harry can perform a miracle and keep us up we are going to bleed and bleed |
pretty much this plus what others have said, loads of fckin awful managers been through our doors. but for sheer arrogance, the tools (£££££) at his disposal & his complete inability to choose even the right shape and alienate players; the award goes to Mr Hughes. all of those under T&C get special dispensation for taking a care in the community job at the footballing asylum. Mullers & Houston right up there. Mullers for still talking like he knows what the fukk he's going on about and Houston for signing the full Arsenal reserve side.

Hughes - worst ever Y/N on 21:07 - Jan 14 with 788 views | RedbourneR | Hughes achieved something I don't think we'd seen before, a misery around HQ, an apathy about the team so that we could barely be bothered to sing to try and lift the team. He had to miracle touch - everything he touched turned to sh1t. I loathe him.

I think there must have been a contractual thing there....I cant believe any manager (even Hughes) would have resigned him. The fact his contract ended this month means something wasnt right.
