To leave Brighton within next few days. Potentially off to Everton, and Curbishley to take over at Brighton...

First part I could see but curbishley, surely not!

He's changed his mind quickly. Gus Poyet was on the radio this morning saying how he wanted to take a few WEEKS to assess the situation, sit down with the Chairman and see where they go from here. If he feels he can make progress he will be there to do so, until he knows he can go no further.

Fast forward four hours and his situation has apparently changed with your claim that he is to leave 'within days'.

Less than half a day is a long time in football.

Curbishley has always struck me as a good manager, shot himself in the foot by saying he wouldn't take a job outside the Prem. How long has he been out of the game now?

Curbishley has struck me as a former manager who is not arsed anymore about working anywhere other than the SSN studio, who gets traipsed out every now an then to discuss the future of seemingly most managers currently in work.

Life is a game of fate.

Agreed. He's taken over from Alan Mullery and Gerry Francis. Been out of the game so long hardly anyone under the age of 30 will know who they are.

Might as well roll Jim Iley and Vic Halom out there.

I've heard Stuart McCall to Everton on more than one occasion today..

The modern pioneer of mealy mouthed bollocks.

Well, he's been voted 'manager of the season' in Scotland and his stock has risen massively since he left Bratfud and seems to be well thought of in Scotland.

That said, he's hardly a candidate for an English Premiership manager's job.

I think you need to take in to account the standard of the SPL, and without being disrespectful to Motherwells achievements, the top league in Scotland is around lower Championship/Top L1 level.

Going to scotland has helped managers like Mcall get their profile back up, after seemingly stalling in England, but there are very few managers working in the SPL that would be able to cut it in the EPL. Any young managers will come to our lower leagues to cut their teeth in our leagues, then hopefully make the steps up from there.

I think it is time that Karl Robinson makes a step up from MKDonalds, he could end up like Paul Tisdale at Exeter, who was very highly rated not 2/3 years ago.

Life is a game of fate.

Problem is regarding robinson that despite one of the biggest budgets in the league MK Dons have underachieved

Believe it or not, Howard Kendall has stepped forward from the shadows and announced that in his opinion, Duncan Ferguson would be an ideal appointment for the Everton job.

Wonder which pub they were in when they conjured that one up ?

If D.Ferguson were get the job, it'd be a real pity his namesake has retired - would've loved to have seen Sir Alex squaring down to him on the touchline

Tisdale has more promotions on his CV than Robinson, who's a whingeing Scouser in the Coleman mode.

Agree.

Gary Johnson at Yeovil has won more and has more going for him. I'm amazed Robinson hasn't been given the boot tbh

I don't think Gary Johnson gets the accolade he deserves, he seems to work wonders at Yeovil, certainly deserves a crack at a decent championship club. I think he was harshly treated at Bristol City, they played some cracking stuff under him.

On the other hand Northampton fans regard Johnson with the same affection we have for Coleman.

As a whingeing scouser Robinson is an ideal fit for MK.

Presumably because he's done something that they feel he deserves to be suspended for.

He's a funny one is Poyet, ever since he's got the Brighton job he's been hankering for a move, he doesn't strike me as one for the long term. If he is going to Everton, they will need some stability.

He's been voted 'manager of the season' by sponsors. The football writers gave it to Lennon and the managers themselves gave it to Johnston at QoS.

McCall, no matter what anyone thinks of the standard of the SPL, has done a remarkable job at Motherwell.
