This is never in doubt - KH is the greatest manager we’ve ever had

What is in doubt, for the last 18 months (including us finishing 8th as results went pairshaped a good few games earlier), is his tactics, where he plays people, his man management and his ambition. For me, all of these have been either non existent or far too negative (with the rare exception) and this is becoming increasingly frustrating week on week regardless of his history

No fear Keith - c’mon let’s av it!

be interesting to know how many on here are old enough to have seen the teams performances under each of our managers over the 110 years or so of existence.

At least the “should he be sacked” vote makes more sense.... though I would vote a very strong NO.

His achievements speak for themselves, so yes he is the best ' Dale manager ever. Honourable mentions to several others. Tony Collins did great things with very little resources as did the first promotion management team in 1969.

Without a doubt he is the best manager we have ever had. His record speaks for itself, but he and we should not rest on our laurels. Football is a progressive game and we must evolve and improve with it. I think he has lost his way at the moment and his signings have been shocking and I must say his arrogance and disrepect he shows the fans does grate with me at times.

Why must we? What right have Rochdale AFC got to be challenging the top half of League 1? Our tradition as a top league 1 club? Our massive fan base? Our wealthy backers?
The only reason any fans may think we should be is Keith Hill and what he has done for this football club - yes the same Keith Hill who is also our biggest problem according to some fans.
By the way if we beat Bristol Rovers tomorrow night (which isn't beyond the realms of possibility) we could be as high as 11th in the league - yes challenging the top half of league 1.

Whhoptidoo, 11th, lets get that open top bus out and arrange a parade.

We have the same ‘right’ to be challenging the top half of League One as any other team in the league. We are in the league by right, finished twentieth in the league last season by right and so remained in this league by right.

Just the same as Burnley being in the Premier league by right, Burton having had the last two seasons in the championship by right (and Oldham and the other lot being in league 2 by right).

Your rightful place is not determined by budget, ownership or anything else other than results.

Should the likes of Brighton and Burnley be calling for Hughton and Dyche to be sacked because they are not challenging for a spot in Europe?

Yes and we've had 3 good years going for it - unfortunately we came up just short on each occasion - to think or expect its going to happen every season is very naive and unrealistic. Hill has become a victim of his own success now giving some fans ammunition to slag him off because we are not beating Sunderland, Barnsley,Peterborough and Portsmouth.

Some are going too far, most are making good points. Hill will know himself the mistakes being made, and he’s the one who can do something about them.

Some of them were being made when we were challenging at the top too.

I think the disappointment so far this season is the way that we have been comprehensively beaten by the teams who, after 10 games, are in the top group. In previous season we have tended to cause them problems and pick up the odd point (or even win). Also other 'mid table' teams have been getting points off these same teams so its far from a league of elites versus the rest.

Hopefully we will start to get it right against these higher placed teams.

This board would be in meltdown if we were in the same situation as Plymouth.
Or Bradford, play-off finalists 18 months ago and now on their fourth manager in 2018.
Or, God help us, York, Stockport, Hartlepool, Halifax.
I work with Halifax fans and they've been in the Football League for just five of the last 25 seasons.
What strikes me is some people don't realise how far we have come under HIll.
We were close to going into the Conference ourselves in 2003 and 2006 remember.
We now have what he calls "layering".
A competitive youth team. Academies in places like Manchester, Birmingham and Burscough.
It's only a year since people on here were kicking off about boring football and 0-0 draws at Blackpool and Wimbledon. I'd settle for a point and a clean sheet at Bloomfield Road on Saturday!
There have been two disappointments for me this season.
One, perhaps obviously, is how porous we have suddenly become at the back. Having said that, we've been playing teams who have been scoring goals for fun and who have genuinely classy strikers eg Pitman, Moore.
The other is how certain players seem to have become marginalised. Or are they injured?

The only team to give us a spanking on that list is Barnsley . The others are nothing special, we gifted them the games. That is what is galling, not so much the actual defeats.

Or be calling for them to become directors of football?

I don't think I said he should be just throwing the question out there.
