They've won three games in 20 so far this season. No doubt that Everton are in a bit of a mess off the field right now but Lampard deserves the sack, no way that squad is the second worst in the Premier League.

Tangled up in blue.

Both Lampard and Steven Gerrard, of whom it was said couldn't be accommodated together in the England midfield, appear to be competing with each other for the role of "least successful potential England manager"

Lampard has established a clear lead for the title now, given Gerrard's success with Rangers, but his record in a real competitive environment with Villa was still pretty poor

I'm not sure it's a clear lead, but I'd also have Lampard ahead.

Gerrard's spell at Villa was a disaster, which came as a bit of a surprise given his impressive stint with Rangers. The turnaround under Emery makes Gerrard's stint look even worse.

Ah, but never forget they are a part of The Golden Generation, that successful outfit, for whom the pathway to their next job will be smoother than for many.

A certain Paul Tait is taking training until an interim manager is appointed.

Just came on to post that. Let’s see if “the difference” can work some magic with Leighton Baines.

KH won 3 in 39 with Scunthorpe and there are still people clamouring for him to manage in the FL again. Lampard won't have trouble getting another job when he wants one, he'll join the merry go round of managers now.
