Danny LLoyd 11:14 - Jul 22 with 11450 views | BigKindo | Unless it has been posted elsewhere he appears to have disappeared from the scene. Is he training with any other club/s? Is anybody starting to feel that at this stage of the pre season he may accept Dale's offer of a contract, if indeed an offer was made? Looking at the present squad we appear to have plenty of mid-fielders. Do we now need him?
Danny LLoyd on 11:37 - Jul 22 with 11327 views | electricblue | Didnt JM address this in his radio interview the other day.. Im sure he said that Sam Graham and Danny Lloyd where offered contracts and nothing came of it. So the club have to move on and look elsewhere... Danny Lloyd as interests in the EFL and with sounds of it in Lge1... Sam Graham as been training with the squad.. With what JM says and not being drawn into a direct answer but Danny Lloyd will not becoming back as there as been no contact from him.... Not even to say no to the offer.

Danny LLoyd on 12:38 - Jul 22 with 11143 views | EllDale | Going off his social media posts Danny Lloyd is training hard but it doesn’t seem to be with a particular club, more with fitness specialists. I wouldn’t hold out too much hope of him coming back though.
Danny LLoyd on 12:40 - Jul 22 with 11113 views | Newbury_Dale | He's obviously not re signing for us but if Lloyd has really got offers from higher up the pyramid, then why hasn't he taken one and joined pre season with the club ? Would he not want to be playing friendlies to get used to his new club ? Doesn't make sense to me. Season starts in a fortnight. [Post edited 22 Jul 2023 12:41]

Danny LLoyd on 13:32 - Jul 22 with 10917 views | Clivert | I believe that he was keen to stay but we offered him much reduced terms to due our financial predicament. I'm sure that a League 2 club will take a punt on him considering the form that he showed for us last season.

Not sure where you heard he was keen to stay, he wasn't and he isn't.

If we were able to match the terms that he was on with us last season then I'm pretty sure by this stage of the summer he would have signed for us, however we weren't able to offer him those terms. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

So the answer to Trev's implied question is that you believed your own optimistic assumption ?

I was told this by someone who had spoken DL himself in a situation that wasn't in the surroundings of RAFC a few weeks after the season had finished in late May. You don't have to believe it if you don't want.

That's fair enough. It just flies in the face of what else we know.
Danny LLoyd on 07:48 - Jul 24 with 8726 views | frenzied | Hes clearly on his way somewhere. Any club taking him on will need to check his fitness levels..we took a punt on him in the first place..and he delivered admirably. Not sure when Dannys last competitive game was before he came to Dale? One of the managements better decisions to give him a chance when it appeared there were few other takers. My view of Llloyd is that he will seek a club where he gets regular games and can lead to an extent as long as his fitness holds up. i think even if we hadn't gone down he would have moved on.
Danny LLoyd on 08:33 - Jul 24 with 8650 views | SaxonDale | Whilst I don't think he'll be heading back to us, I'm amazed he hasn't signed up to someone yet and reckon he could end up lower than we previously expected. Would've thought he'd have been signed up already if he were looking at a Stockport or Salford as I can't imagine him demanding too much.

Contracts runs from 1st July to 30th June but I believe players are still paid for July if they've been released as they try to obtain new employment.

So potentially he may be without an income from football in 7 days. He has to get a contract pretty quick as the EFL/NL season starts in less than two weeks. Then will he be match fit or will he need time to get up to pace i.e. similar to when he joined us last season. Perhaps in desperation he may consider an offer from Dale.

Jim confirmed last week that Lloyd's had offers from further up the pyramid. There's loads of reasons why he might not have accepted one yet - he may be waiting on an offer from a specific club nearer to home, or a club may need to offload a player before they can confirm his signing, or he may be training with them to prove his fitness after the injury before they confirm the deal. It's getting boring now, we clearly can't pay him what he wants (and I'd argue deserves after his performances last season) and he's not going to be playing for us anymore. Time we moved on and focused on the players we do have.

Cheers for that. Didn't listen to it all, just cherry picked bits about the injury, time at Dale and his future. I think that removes any ambiguity. He was probably my favourite player last year for attitude and effort. When you hear the gory details of the injury and the effort he put out to even play again, let alone to outplay and give more effort than many of our other players last season , it really stands out like a beacon. And puts a lot of our players to absolute shame. As 442 has occasionally been heard to say, "they know who they are"

There is a contractual obligation that the released players still get paid in July amd haven't found a club as Chaff says [Post edited 26 Jul 2023 8:07]

Wonder if he has been at clubs but failed medicals or couldn’t get insured
