FANTASTIC finish to the ODIs! 19:30 - Jun 20 with 1924 viewsD_Alien

Well done England! Fully deserved, and this time the heroics by the lower middle order.

What a series, the best ever, I reckon. And after the tests too.

Huge credit to NZ too for their approach and being very competitive.

Edit: At 45-5 we were dead and buried. And in the past, that's where we'd have stayed.

That 4 by Rashid which as good as sealed victory summed it up. Inventive and playing without limitations.

Great series both tests and ODI's, and its a real shame that a lack of TV money maintains NZ as just bit part opponents. They deserve far better than that.

Ironic that the calls for KP to return have been dampened down by a set of players playing KP style cricket. The entertainment provided in this series is perhaps more important than the actual result, and the Ashes may well have come too soon, there is genuine optimism that England can actually play one day cricket.

Michael Vaughan is advocating Rashid as someone who might counter the Aussie right-handers, who'd more than likely take Moeen to the cleaners. He's not getting enough overs to get back into the rhythm he had going for him last year.

Impressed with the way he's kept his nerve after getting tonked for a couple of overs in game 4.

Absolutely brilliant series! Gives English cricket a much needed boost going into a very tough Ashes series.

Not many of this exciting one day side will play in the first test, but the form of Root, Buttler & Stokes is a big positive. The find of this series is Wood, who is a genuine fast bowler. We've not had a player of his ilk for some time.

It'll be interesting to see if Plunkett gets a chance, fitness permitting. He's bowling quick again and offers runs with the bat too. Though I suspect the first choice seamers will be Anderson, Broad, Wood & Stokes.

What an amazing series of ODIs. When the first ball was delivered in game 1 who would have predicted that the last five overs of game five would determine who won the series?

Rashid's batting averages for the tykes isn't bad - could be a genuine all rounder. I could see the odd game where you could have him and Ali in the same side, especially some overseas tours. Would never happen with the old management but who knows now?

A special mention to Radio 4's 'Test Match Special' and long-wave radio too.
Listening to Aggers' crisp, plummy tones on an old Philips car radio while everyone else faffed around with tablets and phones was priceless.

Fantastic seres win. Huge credit to both sides playing the game in the right way.

Dead and buried 4 down with hales root and Morgan scoring 5 between them....

Up steps billings rashid and of course Barstow to get over the line in style...

Transfer this confidence into the tests v Australia and it could be game on!!

Black Caps did not deserve to lose the series. Neither did England.

What sort of a game have they made of cricket?
I look at the score sheet and see England have scored almost 100 runs less that their opponenets and still they win!!!
It's just not cricket.
Hope they don't ever introduce this into the soccer sphere.

And now a fantastic finish and victory in the T20.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Looked like a great evening's entertainment at OT and quite a large margin of victory in the end. We got wickets at the right time to stifle the NZ early momentum, McCullum and Williamson in particular.
