Probably not alone in having high expectations we should beat these. But it is so long since I have been highly expectant of a league win for us i that I forgot how this feels and for some reason gets to my nervous system.
With a fully fit squad I think RS can be bold. If we aren’t firing by half time, which we should be, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of subs at half time. I would absolutely take a scrappy 1-0 win in this, but could also see up beating them by four or more. So why am I nervous ? Not sure I like this win expectation vibe.

0-0 at HT. decided to put out a physically strong side at the expense of any creativity. Oldham look poor but have had the only 2 decent chances. Perhaps the most boring half of the season so far. It may be a derby, but they are bottom of the league for a reason. Really need to freshen it up second half. |  | | |

Deserved it over the whole match. Rode their luck in the last 10 minutes but perhaps deserve a break. our subs made a difference but that may because they sat back

Just got back home and have to say well done to Oldham, outfought, outplayed and out battled, only one team knew it was a local derby not a walking football game....No excuses they were better for 80 minutes, their fans were magnificent save for the bellend with the flare and Dad of the year who got ejected for not wearing a T-shirt....Well done Oldham you deserved it... |  |

We started slow and never upped the tempo. That, coupled with an inability to recognise that the wide players in the front three needed to start getting wider condensed the game and Oldham deservedly won.
Really don’t think we can start with Cashman unless he’s in a front two with Beesley, he doesn’t offer enough of an outlet and wanders into spaces that are far too deep. Odoh at least stretches the play and gets wide. Beesley himself look below par and playing the full 90 at Burnley was, with hindsight, a mistake. However, credit to McGahey who was excellent and their man of the match.
Not sure how O’Keeffe won it for us, he wasn’t up to his previous form again and really has to stop going down under a challenge when it’s possible to keep his feet.
A setback, but also a reality check. Fully expect Stockdale to recognise the issues and address them. |  |
