Apparently only announced at half time tonight. Simon has already tweeted he hadn't been told and is not happy.

Isn't there a minimum percentage meant to be allocated to away fans? Ground capacity 10841 600 = 5.5%

Surely they’d have to have communicated with both us and Hartlepool to stop selling tickets for the Railway End and to find out how many both teams have already sold?! From there they’d need to ensure away fans swap any tickets they already hold. Staggering really that Stockport thought they could create this uncertainty without actually providing answers immediately.

And then there’s liaising with the police who’d want answers about previously sold tickets. What’s to stop a Dale fan turning up with a ticket they already have from taking their seat on the Railway end?

Stockport away on 22:12 - Apr 11 with 4509 views | D_Alien | EFL Rules on away fans 34.2.1 Each Club must make provision for at least 2,000 visiting supporters at every home match or such number as represents 10% of the Club’s certified capacity, if less than 2,000. The League may, on the prior written application of a Club, suspend this Regulation or reduce the figure either for a particular League Match or for a period of time.

Looks like we’ve got two blocks on their seating plans which, with other unavailable seats for segregation, may just hit that 10% mark.

I can't see how those two blocks 4 & 5, adjacent to the open end, can be anywhere near 10% If Stockport had made a formal request with the EFL, surely Dale would've needed to be consulted? Stockport have broken the rules here

For the 600 allocated to away fans to comprise 10% of the capacity, Stockport would have to leave 4800 seats empty [Post edited 11 Apr 2023 22:37]

It’s bloody hard to count but in Block 5 it is 3x rows of 36, 9 x 38 and one with 30. So 480 If Block 4 is the same and we get all those seats it’s around 960. My eyes don’t care to check that block or be responsible for getting Block 5 wrong either!

It's no reflection on your eyesight... ...but that'd still mean Stockport having to leave 1200 seats empty* If 960 = 10% Total available seats 9600 *the equivalent of more than the Railway End closed

Oh yeah, Stockport have a lot of questions to answer. Including why they thought it was a good idea to announce this with so little information provided.

I hope Simon's been on the phone to his counterpart at Hartlepool already This needs a joint complaint to the EFL

Stockport away on 07:38 - Apr 12 with 3955 views | NorthernDale | Some Stockport fans think that because we are going down, we would not sell 1400 tickets, so it is fair, but think it is creating chaos and Dale fans could end up buying tickets in the home end. It is a local derby game and imagine if we the next two games and have a chance, are they trying to help the team win games by having virtually no away fans at the home games and so intimidate away teams more.
Stockport away on 10:34 - Apr 12 with 3597 views | poolsunited | Hartlepool fan here, good luck on staying up, would much rather us 2 did and Crawley/Harrogate go down. On the topic. We would probably sell 2,000+ tickets for this game so they can't use the excuse of "they wouldn't sell the allocation anyway", we sold out our 1,200 allocation for Grimsby last week which is further away and the last game of the season will always attract more. Stockport by EFL rules have to give 10% of capacity to visiting supporters. So they're either going to have to reduce overall capacity which seems counter intuitive or suck it up and give us both the correct allocation. Can't say I'm surprised though, grim football club with fans that act like they're a premier league team because they have a fella with money at the top. It'll all come crashing down, it always does.

Thank you for your kind words. Sadly we have left ourselves to much to do and will most likely be tier 5 Vanarama next season.

I agree, we are both in the fight for safety and we could both visit County needing points, so reducing the away support and even apparently not evening informing or seeking the opinion of both the Dale and Hartlepool is shocking. It is not like the Dale have to travel a great distance, we are less then 20 miles away from Edgeley Park, so it could be chaos on the day in the home end.

Superb post, especially the last part. An odious football club with even more odious fans. Most clubs have one or two decent ones on Twitter/forums/real life but I’ve never encountered one from Stockport yet. When the inevitable happens, I’ll be at the front of the queue to rub their noses in it. Not that I hold grudges or owt… [Post edited 12 Apr 2023 12:12]

Stockport away on 12:21 - Apr 12 with 3310 views | D_Alien | No actual number of seats available to Dale published on the updated OS ticket section now Looks to me like both clubs (Dale & Hartlepool) have accepted what they've been "told" by Stockport and the EFL, whose interest in ensuring compliance with their own rules is notoriously half-arsed, as we very well know Edit: Each of those two blocks might just have 540 seats, which combined (and if you include the sectioned-off seats as part of the away 'allocation') gives 1080, or 10% give or take a decimal point It's a moot point whether the sectioned off part should be a loss of away seating or home seating. For instance, the home club could section off 90% of the away 'allocation' on that basis! [Post edited 12 Apr 2023 12:32]
