There should be an update from the club, either reiterating the need for help or reporting it has been done and what the plans are to protect the pitch before Saturday. A season ticket renewal may depend on simple information like this being provided to already disgruntled fans who are wondering whether to buy one in the future.
From a post on this board on Sunday (again) when, at 1.30pm, the covers weren't on (though they may have been put on after of course, but then we have to wonder why a request for snow to be removed ahead of further frost this week):
In years gone by, especially the bad winter of the promotion season when we got games on when many were off, Dale used the covers we have and the snow fell on top. This added a bit of insulation against frost and with the help of many fans the snow was able to be shovelled off the covers.

I can only assume covers weren't on, its snowed therefore the snow had to be removed before the covers could be put down. All seems judging the weather forecast a little to after the horse has bolted |  | | |

It will be the freezing temps that get us not the snow as there is none forecast as I can see... Every night its gonna hit -7... unless we have supa dupa covers that we don't know of. |  |

They are very much linked as it is a borometer of the good will that there is towards the club.
I happened to be off today, going up to help never crossed my mind.
Previously I have never missed and even burned wood until 4am in the morning when working next day.
It probably just shows that i'm a bit of a tosser, mind you the 500 stay away fans are most likely just viewed as that too! |  |
