Le Tiss Has Saints Banner Confiscated At World Darts Championship
Sunday, 4th Jan 2015 10:47

Matt Le Tissier has tweeted that he had his Saints banned confiscated at last nights World Darts Championship game at Alexandra Palace.

Le Tissier was at the Darts Championship on Saturday night, for those that have never watched it audience participation is encouraged and the crowd members hold up signs aimed at encouraging the cameras to focus their attention on them.

Le Tissier has been a visitor to the tournament before so was well aware of the banter that goes along with the event.

So Matt decided to produce his banner showing the top four in the Premier League emphasising and underlining Saints position of fourth, to make sure that nobody took offence he added a few smiley faces underneath for good measure.

But this proved too much for he security officials in the room and they soon confiscated the banner, perhaps because of the football connotations.

Showing a picture of the offending banner on his twitter account mattletiss7, arguably the greatest ever Saints player said

"Can't believe I had my sign confiscated at the darts last night". #killjoy

Great to see that Matt still flies the flag for Saints in all that he does both professionally and personally.

Superb unofficial ambassador for our club. And one of our top 3 greatest players IMO. Anecdotally a couple of guys I know who have met him tell me what an unassuming and top bloke he is too.

Great to see Le God doing selfies with hundreds of fans, mostly kids, at yesterdays game. He was tireless and did not refuse anyone his time. I even managed to get him to stand in the 'vacant player' team spot for a notable photo..

Talking of good men, I had a chat with Dave Merrington prior to the game and he spared me his time for an insight to his Saints thoughts.
