Jonny Williams - Charlton 08:40 - Jun 2 with 9810 views | dubaistu | Apparently, we are being linked to him, 25 and a free agent. Thought he was one of the best players on the park in the play-off final
Jonny Williams - Charlton on 08:41 - Jun 2 with 7278 views | Hoopstar | Always been a very talented player. However, from watching Sunderland 'til I die he ain't half injury prone! Seems like a decent bloke though...
Jonny Williams - Charlton on 08:46 - Jun 2 with 7259 views | Tonto | Has the talent... its whether his body can cope But he managed 16 games for Charlton in the 6 months he was there, which is reasonable.

No he's not, he's an extremely skilful attacking midfield playmaker. Top notch in an attacking sense at Championship level if he could stay fit. Doesn't look like an athlete, but a great little player on a good day.

I thought he was the best player on the pitch when we lost at MK Dons in March 2016.
Jonny Williams - Charlton on 09:37 - Jun 2 with 7128 views | Watford_Ranger | He can’t be 25! Seems to have been around forever. If Freeman is going I’d rather take a chance on Eze and Chair to fill that role. If you could guarantee 35 games from Williams then fair enough but I see a lot of risk for the potential reward there. Sign some bloody full-backs.

Jonny Williams - Charlton on 13:58 - Jun 2 with 6654 views | francisbowles | I get the issues with injuries and agree other positions are more of a priority but if Freeman and Luongo go it would leave us a bit short on experience. Much as I want to see Chair and Eze playing we made the mistake of overplaying Ebere last season. Happy for the manager and DOF to decide as they know the costs and the availability of replacements and who, from the current squad, is planned for each position etc.

Hang on a second, throw in a drinking habit and surely that's a perfect fit for QPR?
Jonny Williams - Charlton on 16:46 - Jun 2 with 6383 views | Lblock | Charlton cannot "re-sign" him due to weekly wage level. So that's a no from us. If he was a guaranteed starter in 46 games then maybe push the baot out a touch but we'll be lucky to see him for 20 games. NEXT!

The problem with the Cousins signing was it looked sound at the time and was made for all the right reasons. Young (development potential and resale value), solid track record (3-odd seasons ever present at Charlton, a decent footballing side, POTY in one if I'm not mistaken, England underage caps), filling a position we'd not filled since Derry (tackling box to box midfielder with the odd goal). I've seen glimpses of all that and some absolute park football shite (often in the same phase of play) and I'm genuinely mystified why it's not worked out for him at Rangers. We'll release him and he'll go on and become the Iniesta of league 1. Hey ho, all transfers are a gamble and if 50% of ours pan out I'll consider that a success. But don't sign some thieving shìtcùnt because they have a champions league medal, or can juggle a ball in front of the chairman or will punt a few more shirts on South Korea.
Jonny Williams - Charlton on 22:15 - Jun 2 with 5918 views | ealinghoop | Since the Netflix documentary on Sunderland has been released, i’ve seen so many comments about Williams’ supposed ‘mental health’. Quite frankly find it embarrassing that people are calling him out for having supposed ‘issues’ for merely being willing to speak about some of the stuff he was going through. And I’m not saying we should sign the bloke, because I agree on his injury record and you can’t guarentee 30+ games from him. However to reference mental health issues because of a few clips on a documentary where he was willing to open up on some subjects most people won’t, let alone footballers, is ridiculous! Just because he spoke about it does not mean he’s ‘damaged goods’ and it’s no wonder why people who are in a far worse place than he was, don’t speak out and instead suffer.

exactly, laughable that he's brave enough to come out with issues about things as regular as loneliness - lest we forget footballers are people too - and be pigeonholed away with 'issues'. combine that with the fact so many of our players over the years have had chronic injury problems over the year and suffered more than they should do mentally because of exclusion - Faurlin, Mackie, Grant Hall, etc. A ridiculous sentiment.

Jonny Williams - Charlton on 13:31 - Jun 3 with 5368 views | whittocksRs | For the right wages, Williams would make a great, versatile squad member. But the injuries concern, as he should have been looking towards the Premier by now and progress has stalled. Overall, we could do far, far worse, providing it was a good deal for us.

If its just the doc, then thats pretty ridiculous, especially as he pretty much admitted to normal feelings about the situation.

its tricky if you were hiring someone to work for you, and you knew they suffered from mental illness (be it depression, alcoholism, eating disorder, etc), would you not be less inclined to hire them? its a terrible thing to say, but i do think most employers would prefer to hire someone who didnt have these issues (if they had full knowledge) in the harsh world of football, where fans can be absolutely brutal, its so much harder if you struggle to cope with anxiety depression etc having said all of that, showing some signs of doubt when you're injured doesnt make you mentally weak... nor does it mean you have mental health issues and i agree that this mentality is why people probably keep their issues to themselves

Two recurring themes from last season: 1 - QPR is a bloody tough club to play for 2 - Jonny Williams is a fragile footballer (physically, before we start speculating about mentally)

Honest question. Is QPR an especially tough club to play for, or do we think that because we're its long-suffering supporters? Don't fans of most teams (beyond the top half dozen in the Prem) feel the same? Finances are tight at the moment but we can pay our players. Loads of ex-Rs speak highly of their time at LR, and are happy to talk about it. We change managers like pairs of socks, but so do the majority of clubs in the FL. We're also situated in one of the most culturally vibrant cities in the world, that attracts almost anyone in their twenties with enough money to enjoy it. What's to dislike?
