We took £750k from Brentford (and everyone said we were "cashing in") and then poor Scott Hogan did his knee ligaments and was out a long time.
He came back from that first injury and promptly did his other knee before being sold to Villa for £9m? And I think we got a sell on!

That is Dale's business model. It's very well known. That is how we compete despite revenue streams being lower than the majority of clubs at this level. It's worked pretty well in the last 10/15 years, with an extended stay in League One, so well that SCUM want to jump on the band waggon and personally profit from it.

What will probably upset the WUM is the realisation that Beesley was sold to a Championship club where he signed a 3 and 1/2 year deal and all of that money flows into Rochdale AFC.
I don't recall reading that sale of Beesley to a Championship club in the Manchester Evening News in July

Anyone thinking that because we have £300k in our back pocket that we can go and sign a “proven” goal scorer is deluded.
Yep, we could probably afford a transfer fee, but proven goal scorers want proven goal scorer salaries, which we can’t afford.
We will either recruit from Non League or a take a youngster from the leagues above us. We’re Rochdale, it’s what we do, and it works for a club our size.

The club commited to only accepting good fees and investing 100% of them into the transfer budget. Fees which are undisclosed for obvious reasons and have people guessing with about a 200k difference eitherside for each of them.

It's spawned the return to the "old" model of teams going into the pyramid to build players - Beesley being a good example.

Obviously you have a lot to learn about football in general and Rochdale in particular. Also, try using a thesaurus perhaps, to understand what a "fire sale" is. Selling two players for huge profit is hardly a fire sale.
With Covid19 wiping out any possibility of turning a profit for the foreseeable future, that income couldn't have come at a better time.
