| Ba has failed his medical so not signing for QPR 23:52 - Aug 12 with 12077 views | numptydumpty | Announced this evening... Personally think now they have seen Burrell and with the confirmed signing of Kone, deemed not a necessary signing. But reason given is : - Failed his medical !! šššššš [Post edited 12 Aug 23:55]

Out of favour player speaks badly of club who never had faith in him isnāt particularly new or a sign of how bad things are at the club. Look at how Lynch spoke about us in that interview while under Holloway and Les. I think the Nourry beating mantra needs a bit of a reality check atm. Comms/āperformanceā programme/unbalanced squad building/MC exit all worthy topics. Salty ex playersā¦not so much.

| Ba has failed his medical so not signing for QPR on 11:14 - Aug 13 by dmm | We don't know our side of the story and probably never will. However, this won't build other teams' confidence in doing business with us. |
If they even see it or even care. Most clubs will do what is best for themselves. Why should we be criticised for doing the same? People moan we never play hardball, then we play hardball and lo and behold, people moan and say no-one will like us or want to deal with us.

We look after QPR, not Schalke. If we aren't happy with something, then we don't go through with it. Simples.

That's one way of looking at it. But if, as Schalke claims, we've broken agreements and failed to communicate with them, that isn't a good reputation to have. You can play hardball and deal fairly with the other party at the same time. The best thing would be for Nourry to publicly give his side of the story but I guess that's not going to happen.

Or clubs could speak to Peterborough, Wycombe and Reading for example. Maybe we were complete d.icks with them too, Iāve no idea. But imagine other clubs will do a bigger survey than 1 German club.

| Ba has failed his medical so not signing for QPR on 12:30 - Aug 13 with 2254 views | LowerloftLad | Its hardball and tough luck. Cambridge came out last season crying that we should take back Richards. The response no we wont get over it. For ages everyone has moaned about players ect running down contracts and trying to hold the club to a ransom. things are obviously changing Dickie,Armstrong,Kelman, dieng all being sold to other championship side's for decent money not leaving for free. Everyone knows when dealing with Tottenham that levy can be a right pain in the ass and clubs still buy and sell to Tottenham. [Post edited 13 Aug 12:32]

This is business, we're not in it to make friends. In any event, Schalke themselves admitted that previous clubs have flagged the same medical issue. Fair play to the club for deciding against another risky signing. We've signed our fair share of crocks over the years. It's high time this strategy stopped.

Good shout Benjamin. Happy to see CN play a bit hardballish and not roll over like a prison biyatch. Of course, the devil is in the detail and there are two sides to every story. However, when push comes to shove, in the final analysis and when the rotund lady warms her vocal chords before letting rip with an aria: fck 'em, and fck 'em sideways if needs be!!

Awful shout for me. If it's just a business, I might as well support Adobe or Marks & Spencers. That aside, I don't want to be part of a disliked club unless it's because we've hoovered up trophies. Fck modern football.

So you would rather we waste precious resource on a player who might have injury issues, or who we might no longer need, or who might have prevented us signing Kone? Probably makes you a decent guy but probably also makes you not entirely qualified to be the club's commercial director.

I still prefer this to the Mark Hughes/Kia era where agents were pulling the owners pants down left right and centre

It may not be a business to you and I, but it's a business in the eyes of the owners, the board, companies house, the EFL, etc. To be successful it needs to be run accordingly. Folk have been vocal in criticising the club for signing crocks. Now, you're complaining when it does the right thing in rejecting a player with a chequered medical history. Would you prefer that QPR signed another injury prone player just to make Schalke happy? [Post edited 13 Aug 16:24]

Or for Charlton to print it. I've heard stuff about him too. And no I'm not CN's PA or Hoos' tennis partner. But as someone else said, there's two sides to every story. As for Ba do we think Shalke were upftont about Ba's injury situation???

Sounds like it was an underlying condition/ historical issue as Shalke say it had come up in previous medicals. Clubs are entitled to take a view on such things (from memory we took a risk on Charlie Austin) but equally a club can pull out after a medical: otherwise, what would be the point of them? Until a contract is signed, no commitment is made, same if selling a house or car or anything else and can cut both ways. We might be a little less "nice" at how we do business now, but isn't that progress? Or do fans prefer how we were run under the Hughes spending spree when by curious coincidence the manager shared the same agent as most of his signings and even Harry Redknapp remarked we had had "our pants pulled down" (before he proceeded to do much the same again). The negativity among large sections of this board is something else, seemingly looking at absolutely anything to criticise (this not referring to you Nix, who I appreciate as a voice of reason). Now some other clubs don't like us and think we are mean at business. Well, "Boo bl**dy hoo" and "about time".
