Rochdale v Scunthorpe on Tuesday 17:22 - Oct 31 with 34478 viewsYouTubeDale

Just noticed that York have recalled goalkeeper Rory Watson loaned out to Scunthorpe. He played in their last game beating Aldershot.
Interesting that Scunthorpe play in the FA Cup tomorrow away to Blackpool. We should be rested more perhaps giving us an edge.
Every little helps.

Jesus saves but Beasley scores off the rebound.
Poll: Do you want Keith Hill to leave immediately?

l will be interesting to see how the pitch at Rochdale Mayfield performs in the coming seasson. They are having a complete new pitch laid. They have removed the top 18 inches of soil. and the laid completely new drains over all the pitch. It looks like a scene from the first world war in the trenches at the moment, but should solve their pitch problems.

Again, where is there any reference to drainage being an issue apart from on the pitch?

A company was brought in a few years ago to do extensive work on the pitch. It can't be difficult for the current owners and Simon Gauge etc to contact them and ask the appropriate questions as to why the pitch has performed so poorly. Was the pitch properly maintained, did our own groundsman have the skills and support to maintain the pitch to the required standard? Was a guarantee taken out with the company at the time of the work and did the club/ groundsman adhere to the conditions of the guarantee? If the answer to those questions is no then the club have to take responsibility and those running it at the time..chucking tonnes of sand on the pitch will just create problems further down the line and that seems to have been the solution down the years. Are the current groundstaff team of the required standard at this level to look after a pitch that is used for both football and rugby? Leaving no stone unturned and investigating the best solution to the problem requires these basic questions to be asked. When a pitch is installed does the company doing the work just walk away and say 'crack on with it', or do they put their own maintanence plan in place? If there are plans for a new pitch then the maintenance of it is critical, lessons therefore need to be learned from this fiascogoing forward. It's the mentality of paying a fortune for new covers and just leaving them to rot at the side of the pitch. The stadium manager and the head groundsman should be addressing things like that, it also represents a danger to players as they run off the pitch onto the covers.

Worth contacting Lancashire CC to see if we could loan a super-sopper for the winter?

seeing a pic of a poor groundsman pushing a hand sopper a few weeks ago (Carlisle) wondered if such a thing could help (without causing further damage)

Light rain forecast for next 11 days (BBC) and ganes in 7-10 days.

Poll: DF in or out

This may have been said elsewhere but Scunthorpe have a blank Saturday 13th December so do we.
Obvious solution?
