| TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 21:10 - Dec 28 with 1874 views | Dalenet | Will be strange having our next two homes games at Accy. But grateful that they have helped us when we needed it. I see that Accrington play on Monday night, and then we play on Tuesday night. The weather forecast is very chilly - perhaps -1c during the second half. In fact it is forecast to rarely get above 1 or 2C all week. Praying that the weather doesn't get in the way of our games next week. As for the fans I hope we are travelling in good numbers despite the inconvenience. The coaches are leaving 3 hours before kick off so that won't appeal to many of those that needed a lift to the game. Just hope everyone can get there that wants to. You can see from the ticketing platform that we have about 250 seats left to sell - with terrace options available too. Not sure Hartlepool will be travelling in numbers as they have sold around 100 tickets so far. Lets hope the club gives this game a last minute push tomorrow and we can make The Wham stadium a home fortress and bring back the 3 points over Owd Betts. | | | |
| TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 21:45 - Dec 28 with 1823 views | Daley_Lama | 464 bus runs direct from Rochdale to Accrington centre, 20 min walk to ground. Only issue is last bus leaves at 21:25 back. Not useful for this game but can be used both ways for 2nd game on Sat. | |

| TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 01:14 - Dec 29 with 1595 views | TalkingSutty | It's a good choice of venue playing at Accrington and i'm sure plenty of Dale fans will turn up and bring the noise behind the goal. The management teams approach to these two games will be crucial i think. There has to be a realisation that we are the home team and it's up to us to take the game to our opponents, my fear is that we might lose sight of that and the game becomes a bit of a tactical borefest like one of the National Cup games and we end up making it easy for our oppenents to sit back and come away with something. A neutral venue might lead to neutral displays by both teams, i hope that's not the case and we don't play with the handbrake on. Let's start the game as we mean to go on, the playing surface at Accrington is fabulous. [Post edited 29 Dec 1:16]

Partly because I always watch Dale at Christmas (since moving away) and for the novelty of watching Dale as the home team on an away ground. Rather excited

Does anyone know if Accrington was our first choice of venue and why Accrington were happy to help us out? Obviously we should be very grateful regardless but is it down to a good relationship between the clubs, financial or a bit of both? I assumed Oldham would have been the first choice or maybe even bURY (if giggle is up to it) or maybe even Bolton. As I said above we should be grateful just wondered how the decision was made.

I imagine Oldham and Bury wouldn't want to risk their ground being defaced by a minority that probably would...

I imagine it came down to money, Accrington are no different to our club they always need extra revenue. They also have a lovely playing surface, a plastic pitch at bury would mean we couldn't field our strongest team, Rodmey can't play on a plastic pitch for example, as we saw at Tamworth recently. I hope everybody treats Accringtins stadium with the respect it deserves, no defacing anything or stupid acts of vandalism. The Ogdens are paying out enough money as it is and don't want to be landed with a bill because of childish behaviour. Let's all represent the club well and leave a good impression on everybody connected with Accrington Stanley FC. Personally, i think it's a great venue and see these two games as a bonus to the season rather than a disadvantage. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 12:13 - Dec 30 with 277 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Stanley beat Harrogate 1-0 last night at the Wham....att 1995. Perhaps some Accy fans might be lurking around to see some proper football tonight as well? | | | |
