Noted that home tickets not on sale from Monday due to GMP advice, obvious concern about York fans buying home tickets. (Undesirable but understandable from their side)
Very hard to think of methods to control, but here are some options.
1. Online electronic purchases of tickets allowable to season ticket holders.
Risk: If a season ticket holder buys tickets for York fans. Unlikely but possible
2. Online electronic sale to non season ticket holders who have purchased Dale home tickets previously
Risk. Would have to ensure tickets only up to say today are eligible as evidence. Otherwise Yorkies could buy for Wealdstone game then use that as eligibility.
3. Online postal tickets only purchasable to a postcode close to Rochdale. Limited number of tickets per online purchase
Risk - Odd local Yorkie could purchase
4. In person purchase only permissable with proof of address/id.
Risk - as above, odd local yorkie could purchase.
This would still be an issue for non county St holders who live outside of Rochdale, have never bought a ticket online for a Dale game. These would hopefully be a small number which could be managed on case by case.
It’s a challenge for the club to manage safety of fans for the obvious reason and i know if this was other way around, some would try to get home tickets also.
If it is a decider i hope York do the big screen at their place for those without a ticket. |  |

York City were very clear that it was 1 ticket per season ticket holder. If, and its a big if, somebody got 30 tickets, they had to turn up with the season ticket cards for all 30 fans. They were sleeping outside all night to be first in the queue at 6am.....never did I think people would want to sleep out overnight to get a pass to come to Rochdale. We could have sold the stadium out and some.
Onto Friday now. Just checked and Morecambe have sold about 100 tickets so far. I genuinely thought they would have come down in droves given their fight to stave off relegation. We have a lot of home end tickets to sell too. As it stands, we will struggle to get 3,000 on Friday. Hope ticket sales pick up |  | | |

I'm sure we'll get more than that for a Bank Holiday fixture and given how important the game is. People can still buy on the day at the ground as well. |  |

Just hope that the so called 'fair weather fans' that have bought a York ticket might like to support the team ahead of the York game so that we can have something to shout about on the last day of the season. I would think so. The way their club has gone in recent years will also have contributed to their apathy, as we saw with Dale for a time. | |

Make of that what you will, but if York held their allocation to ST holders it creates the problem; unless, of course, there are more than 3500 York ST holders. Even so, the limitations on the Willbutts hugely exacerbates the issue. Whilst we can all understand the desire of the club to not have 3500 baying Yorkies opposite the players entrance, the decision not to split the stand to allow maybe 1000 extra Dalies to attend also adds to the profiteering issue, even if those tickets end up in Dale hands

Whatever the planning, it’s hard to stop people not acting responsibly. There’s a difference to buying tickets for family/friends and offering tickets out to anyone who wants to pay for it. Quite sad if that is happening. | |

Completely agree that it's sad, and very wrong
Just saying (again) that limiting capacity exacerbates these things. Even if the whole stadium could've been sold out twice, the club don't know that beforehand therefore why create additional pressures. This was entirely forecastable; hope lessons will be learned, although Andy Duff will no longer be with us to add his commercial acumen going forward [Post edited 31 Mar 19:08]
