Supporting Rochdale has been described as "the triumph of hope over experience". And many of us will see that clearly, especially the long standing Daleys among us.
So whenever I go to Spotland (COA) its usually with more hope than expectation.

But I can't remember being so affected by the outcome of any sport fixture since childhood. When the equalizer was awarded I just had to get out of the immediate place from where I was watching, find a space and just sit for a couple of minutes. I know I was not the only one.

Had we lost two or three nil I would have probably thought. OK fair result. That's the way it goes. Or had it been 1-1- at half time and finished that way. But the WAY it happened!

Group hugs to all Dale supporters everywhere. Time to pick ourselves up for the playoffs and the rest of life, the universe and everything.

Nice poem but don't get sentimental because there'll be something else behind that. She'll be suggesting a trip out to Boundary Mill once the season finishes and you'll be coughing up for a new frock. The fact the poem is clothes themed should have set off the alarm bells.

I was saying to my Nephew after the game, that if we do go up, we will probably be the only club whose fan base will go down.
Imagine a scenario where we are home to Crawley for example, 15th in the table, crowd will be rubbish.
I think the National league has been brilliant for us, and given us so many memories, I really hope we achieve our goals over the next few weeks, and a win at Wembley would be the perfect way to say goodbye and thank this division for propelling us forward again, if we dont make it, ill look forward to another season here.

how do razz your old mucker here, im genuinly gutted for you all, i know how much this meant to everyone and you would have deserved it, it was fascinating the final third off the season both clubs winning and scoring late goals yours last week to take it to the last day im sure you will dust youselves down and a nice trip to Wembley is on the cards.

Being Bury and a rival i naturally wanted you to fail on Saturday but not in such a cruel way, i had to listen into the 2nd half on the wireless, it sounded to me like they were most likely to come out on top your keeper having a great game but it had all the makings of you scoring a dramatic winner in stoppage time and sure enough it happened.. i got to admit i smiled and nodded my head they have a done it and the dale lot deserve it but what happened after that was total dis belief i said to my mate thats typical dale.

the pitch invasion is only human nature im not sure it contributed to the outcome ive read on here how it gave them time to compose themselves etc but it could have so easily worked against them too in loss of momentum/ giving up and accepting defeat etc but i understand the issue being the game had not ended, any pitch invasion should be at the final whistle but like i said it would have happened at any ground so i wouldnt dwell on it like some are on here whats done is done.

hope to be watching you all at Wembley it would be a fantastic way to go up.
i used to hate the play offs we were involved in many we never went up that way.

cheers Judd my OP is too all my old rivals muckers i was gutted for you all, been watching the videos on utube so cruel to miss out like that but if you do it at Wembley it will have been worth it.

i bet it was im not sure how i would cope with that! but you all seem to be doing ok.

we got well over 9k last home game last season when we won the NWCP title but that was the last game off the season and we were home, we were away this time, we still had a chance off winning the title other week if other results went our way hence the 7k.

average between 3-4k usually, should be getting over 4k next season.

Now that the dust is beginning to settle I thought I would add this:
The events of last Saturday made me realise that Supprting The Dale pearhaps means a little bit more to me than I had thought.
It has often been said that teams or players learn more in defeat than in victory but can that also be true of supporters?
In this case, I think it can.

Whatever happens in the playoffs, I'm now looking forward to taking in a couple of games early next season in whichever division.
I've got a feeling, it's going to be an exciting ride, especially of we can keep Jim.
