In addition, when the club announced tickets going on general sale at 3pm today, it was specified that a Fanbase account was required PLUS you had to be "following" the club
When i logged in (at 2.55pm), i knew i had a purchasing history, but was unsure whether i was "following" in the sense that the club meant. One of the options that pops up is to sign up to Dale comms via the app. So when the app was showing "no tickets for sale" for about 15 minutes, i tried doing that (just to be sure) but it kept crashing
Eventually, at 3.30ish, i was able to purchase a ticket
My point here is that - though it might be obvious to most what "following" entails (and i usually understand what it means) there was a real concern that because i hadn't signed up to Dale comms that i'd be excluded from buying a ticket. Others of my generation may need these things making crystal clear, to avoid unnecessary hassle |

However, if they do nothing and there are issues on Sunday, it will be a case of not taking all preventative steps to avoid problems.

I think the increase in tickets for Scunny, is due to a legal requirement as it’s a ‘cup’ game as opposed to a league game. Dale would not willingly give more tickets than is required, as stated at a forum. Especially with so much at stake |  | | |

It’s a “shared gate” - Scunthorpe are entitled to 50% of the net ticket revenue after VAT and allowable expenses have been taken into account.

Some may have been trying to purchase them before their own went on sale. There was a three hour window between Dale being open sale and Scunny selling to ST holders. They also weren’t informed until 5.30 what the process would be. Do some take a chance?
Once fans who weren’t ST holders saw that and realised six would be going to those with a ST, if they didn’t arrange something quickly they would have realised our tickets were going fast too. Again, do some take their chances?

There’s a lack of consistency for sure. They should have clearly communicated about the purchasing history again, as they did v York. It should be standard for all ticket games. They could easily make it clear how they will check purchases too. | |

You've got to let people buy more than 1 ticket on open sale - what if family and friends want to sit together. Season ticket holders for home fans is easier to organise as you get your normal seat so there is no issue. For away fans limiting it to 1 ticket is difficult if you want to sit with people you know. 6 is too many though. It should've been 2 at the most. | |

If this ridiculous decision to allow each season card holder six tickets has been made by somebody at our football club then they should hang their heads in shame. They obviously have no regards for the fans and just want those tickets shifted as quickly as possible. There will be many fans, season card holders who wont have a chance of getting a ticket now. Loyal fans who will have been travelling all over the country to support their club. If our club has made that ridiculous decision then it's worrying that we still have people employed by the club who have no empathy for the most important people at any football club, the fans. I thought we'd progressed from poor decision making. A limit of one ticket each will have still seen the tickets sell out today but on a much fairer basis. A decision made by somebody who obviously has no affinity or understanding of the fans, it just lacks basic commonsense and a don't give a sh*t attitude. If it happened to our fans we'd be going mad. The Ogdens still have people in the club who are capable of dragging us back to the bad old days and antagonising the fans, this sort of stuff shouldn't still be happening. Hopefully the new CEO will get a grip of things like this, it's basics and bad publicity at a time when we will soon be wanting to sell season cards with all the benefits that supposedly should bring. Clarification from both clubs is needed. If it's a joint decision then they're as bad as each other. Fans are right to flag it up otherwise these decisions become the norm. Hopefully we will hear that the decision was a Scunthorpe one. I think they have over 3000 season ticket holders according to somebody on social media. When you buy a season card you expect to get first dibs on restricted away tickets within reason, it's one of the advertised benefits. To then allow six tickets per person is absolutely ridiculous and the short time span isn't a excuse. Scunthorpe would have sold their entire allocation today if it had been limited to one ticket each. The Iron website says that Rochdale have set the limits to a maximum of six tickets per person. It also brungs up other problems, desperate Scunthorpe fans trying to buy tickets in the home ends. [Post edited 30 Apr 10:09]
