With all the comings and goings and excitement at San Spotty,is anyone getting remotely interested in what is just about to start over the pond?
I think, looking at the England squad we have a really good chance.....there is a depth of talent without doubt.
Must say though I am not getting the purple haze about the competition and prefer to follow what's going on locally.
Just hope Haiti do well.

I don’t want to go political because this is a football forum however, you will probably find the reason why they have to declare that sort off stuff now is because the far right are waiting to riot at any moment with daddy Nigel’s mob and Tommys mob, as we’ve seen multiple times they pounce on any opportunity to cause more distress and violence. It’s the sad state of the world now, where we have let social media become unchecked power, it is a sest pit and no one has the balls to fix it. We literally have a man wearing a bin making more sense that all the other parties.
But back to the game, Jude Bellingham is simply incredible, I don’t think we’ll ever play how we think we can play this competition the conditions are against us and are wingers just haven’t clicked, and we don’t have any other out and out wingers right now. I’d have loved Ngumoha out there but his time will come. There are shades of Real Madrid in the champs league about us, lots of furore about performance but suddenly there in a semi final without leaving 3rd gear. Bellingham reminds me more and more of Bryan Robson in his hey day at club and international level..completed committed at all,times..you always felt that if he wasn’t playing the chances of winning we’re significantly less.

Yes, that was announced quite a while ago (Dec 2024 in fact), but it's not all going to be in six countries, in the same way as the current event is in three countries.
The South American leg is to coincide with the competition's Centenary and will only stage three games, before all the action moves to Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Its the centenary of the first world cup held in Uruguay. Uruguay does nothave the capacity to host the much bigger competition now and even a combined bid with neighbours wasnt feasible so they are starting the competition over there and then moving lock stock and barrel to Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
given the current size of the comp, and dissatisfaction with the ‘third place qualifiers’ meaning FIFA may be tempted to expand to 64 teams, we will probably never see a one country world cup again…..though the Saudis currently have it all to themselves in 2034. | | | |

Taking gordon off is reminicent of when tuchel was bayern manager against real madrid and took off kane when he pinned their defence back and they also lost that game as well. All in on spain. Vibes men dont win world cups. | | | |

Cannot think of a game where a manager has made such a tactical disaster that was so obvious yet so compounded by each move made.
Sitting on the edge of the box after scoring was clearly not affecting the Argentinians as they were happy to work in the small spaces available. So we chucked on more and more central defenders. So they carried on creating chances until eventually they deservedly scored.
And then they scored again even though we had 48 centre halves on the pitch.
That was the definition of anti-football for half an hour. There is no way he should continue as manager after that. |  |

We have all seen games like this tonight.....1-0 is a dangerous score especially if you sit back and further back, have no outlet up front and allow teams to put in countless "unstopped" crosses......once the equaliser is gained, the attacking team are in the ascendancy and the winner follows.

We saw the same under Southgate and even under McNulty during his time at the club. Take the lead in big games and then make defensive substitutions and try to 'manage' the game. You give up the momentum and invite your opponents to attack you. I imagine we are all fans who have watched the game for decades and i bet all of us said the same thing when we took the lead tonight ' let's get a second goal and not try to sit back and defend'. Rooney was spot on with his analysis. My overall verdict is that we've been pretty poor throughout the competition. I like Tuchel but he hasn't had us playing the football i expected to see, the defence has been really poor. He wont be sacked but it seemed he had no plan to manage the game should we take the lead. He was the difference in earlier matches. We came from behind twice and in games when it was about changing tactics, digging in and getting the result.
Up to our goal, they didn't have a shot on target in the first half and not sure if they did at the start of the second either. Unfortunately once we scored the goal in my opinion he bottled it completely. If they haven't created a chance in an hour with they way we were playing why let them play almost all of the last 30 minutes in our half? In that time, from creating nothing, they score 2, hit the post twice and Pickford makes a great save from a free header. Genuinely lost for words [Post edited 15 Jul 23:14]
