Bringing money to the table obviously helps but i think when the council has a stake in the Club it acts as a deterent to those who would seek to harm it. A long term partnership like this coupled with the Golden Share goes a long way to keeping the club safe for generations to come. You can now see the vision of the Ogden family's ' community club' taking shape and Bowlee ticks every box. Exciting times ahead. [Post edited 12 Jun 8:44]

The issue (literally) is likely to be what it was this time last year - the Dale Trust. They're doing okay on lots of fronts, but still, can it really be said to represent the fanbase? I really don't think so
For me, it remains the only "fly in the ointment" whilst this fantastic initiative at Bowlee points us towards a really great future [Post edited 12 Jun 11:07]

This may sound a bit controversial but what is the point of the trust at the moment? They seem to have lost their way and are struggling for a role. With the new owners there is not the same level of need for challenge or accountability. They do a good job with the coaches to away games for those who use them but with the introduction of the CAB what is their role?
This is not to downplay their work in ensuring we still actually have a club to support, but things have moved on and they have not. They have also lost a number of big hitters over the past few years, which has had an impact. [Post edited 12 Jun 20:06]

Unfortunately what happened last year did no favours for the Trust. It was completely unnecessary and they were made fully aware of that and the potential longer term impacts, but it was still allowed to happen.

Good points / questions. I think many fans feel the same and its almost as if the trust board themselves feel the same. Would be interesting to see member numbers over the last 2/3 years. | |

A standard membership at the one down the road is £90 a month. The owners will no doubt make the gym accessible for all.
Absolutely everything about it is needed and will be an asset. You can never have enough gyms, for health and wellbeing. And these days youngsters are using them, so no doubt the youth teams both male and female will get full access which is great. Along with special needs children etc.
The whole idea and the way it’s been softly landed is professional. We are professional and I am thoroughly enjoying it. |  | | |

The gym will be used by the first team and youth teams and will be made available to fans or members id guess and it would allow the club to say appoint a Pilates coach, who could then also work in the gym, outside club time allowing the club to justify to appointment financially, that’s just one small example. The club are clearly looking at the out going costs, the pitch, the ground itself, the training facilities cost and want to bring it down and create financial possibilities. I personally think it looks fantastic, not to big to be extortionate but not to small to look like a portacabin in a field. I thought there would be more about the it being self efficient with green power etc maybe that will come. |  |

Apparently , players lunchtime food will, in future, be cooked at the COA and transported to Bowlee, hence the new kitchens being installed at the COA , its expected to save around six figure sum per year vs the costs at Platt Lane..
Many of the new developments will be self- financing, thus reducing cost significantly over time.... all the food outlets at the COA are being upgraded and made more efficient too... |  | | |

The Trust is the only democratic representative body for fans - CAB members are chosen by the Club not elected by the fans; that's why the Trust needs to be as representative as possible of the fanbase and fully accountable to it and as others have said that is unclear at present. | |

The Golden Share issue a cornerstone of regulatorty reforms and is intended to be awarded to a recognised supporters trust (some.clubs have more than one trust).
Now the independent football regulator is in place I would expect to see some movement.
However, at Rochdale, and according to the last published membership figure of 713 on the Trust website, there is clearly a representative issue. That figure equivalent to 28% of season ticket holders.
The next CAB meeting is 10th August, at which the issue can be raised, although there may be a fans forum ahead of that.

It is heavily funded by the Ogden family to make away travel affordable. There are fans who still abuse the law in terms of alcohol, smoking, vaping, but such behaviour appears to be rare and dealt with quickly and decisively.
The club shop and media have been brilliant in promoting coach travel. | |

It was indeed a crying shame that all the great work done over many years by many good people was undone so quickly. Whilst it was avoidable, you can't turn back the clock.
It is up to the Trust now to rebuild trust with the vast majority of the fanbase that are no longer members. The new Trust Chair will no doubt be very active on here and on social media to outline their priorities and beat a drum to drive up membership and participation. If they don't, they can't be surprised that the Trust will be seen as irrelevant by the majority. | | | |

I sent an e mail to the Trust on the 4th June requesting information about the renewal process for 2 existing members (exiles). I prefer not to have the auto renew as I like to assess my options.

I believe the Chair is Emma Loynd and the Vice Chair is Vince Ashall. The latter is also the Trust rep on the Dale main Board. | | | |
