If this turns out to be true, I'll be elated. I still think we're doomed for the drop, but at least we'll have an experienced manager installed to get us back to being a decent side again in League Two.
For me, the most important thing is getting Team Rochdale back. There has been a worrying lack of unity at Dale since Eyre was appointed and it's only got worse.
Coleman seems the sort of chap who is more than capable of commanding respect while being liked.
We'll also get a bit of media attention initially, having lured England's third longest serving manager away from his club. Whether that's a good or bad thing, I can't say.
Oh, and then there's the small matter of his first game being against a certain bunch of interbreeders down the road! |  |

Not really. Lots of Dale fans have been predicting Coleman's arrival based on the rumours doing the rounds, just because MattDalemon has proved to be more 'informed' than most doesn't mean he'll look dafter than anybody else.

No, it was evaporating at the start of the season. It seems now to have evaporated. At the start of the season we looked bad but still had that fight about us and the 'not knowing when you are beaten' mentality. Sadly long gone and if we don't get someone in who can bring that back then we will be a non-league club very shortly. |  |

And that's why I'd be elated, because I believe we'd be signing a proper manager as opposed to someone who is simply a tactitian.
I honestly feared we'd end up with someone who played ugly just to keep us in this division. While survival would have been great, I've reajusted my wants.
I'd be less disappointed with relegation knowing someone like Coleman was in charge than I would surviving by playing Barrowball.
