Good to hear the search function is happening, Clive.

Email notification of replies would be excellent.

I wouldn't change anything else. There are annoyances, ya - WUM's and inability to view previous posts by a poster are two I can think of - but generally it's a great forum with good modding and good posters.

I agree with daggers and would add there are a few "socialists" on here who claim the moral high ground but abuse people for their opinion ad I mean abuse.

Still takes all sorts innit.

I don't see how someone watches a game can define a problem but that's been a bone of contention on here for many a year. Certainly can actually watch every single game now we're "top flight". Must agree with Sharpy on the lack of stream quality for the Spurs game, tried loads, all shyte really. Watched the game on match choice later for a better view of the game.

As for being there, these days I see very little, can't thing why. It's also clear that being there offers the opportunity for completely different views of incidents and therefore never a consensus, this only happens at away games where the view is the same and opinions can also be formed by those screaming for a foul/penalty/nose picking whatever it is.

As also said, I've met a number of posters from here over the years and they are all vvankers, including me!

With the exception of the bloke we foisted ourselves on at a table outside the Adelaide whilst regaling the deer costume in Richmond Park, he was from Hampshire and his poster name will come to me at some point.

All this messageboard malarkey should be fun shouldn't it?

That is all

Hello Baz.

Memory refreshed? How kind of you to say and the memories not to bad I'am indeed from Hampshire.

Don't often get as far as the Adelaide anymore. I now sit with my Grandad who has also moved down this way to be closer to his family. His 93 year old legs can only manage the short walk through White City estate and into the beautiful surroundings of The Springbok and then into the stadium.

I always find I get on with all Rangers fans I meet. Quite surprised so many on here end up in a long argument.

On the subject of watching on a live stream. At the Chelsea game I was sure that Cech tried to trip Zamora when eventually the ball was cleared off the line. I was very surprised when I watched MOTD, totally different to what I thought I saw.

Now that's a valid post / point.

It irks me at times when usual suspects on here spout of nonsense when they've not been at the game.
I'm not saying those who don't attend matches opinions are not valid. But watching on a screen you do not get the full picture of what is going on etc etc etc.

These people are worse than the WUMs IMO

I am a season ticket holder in F block.I rarely attend away games cos i can't afford to drop the work but i try to watch a stream . Why can't I comment on our performance . Pundits who comment on the game are watching on screen ,players and coaches will watch dvd of opponents you have the benefit of replays . when i am at a game i will often get a text saying that was offsiide or handball from someone watching at home. when we were in the champ i never commented if i didn't go but watching live on screen is ok Imo

I'm not saying a non watching matching attendee shouldn't comment or share an opinion on the game. I've no right to do that in the first place.

Often after a game, I look on here. There are a small number of posters on the threads, not all I hasten to add, who just spout utter ball.

I don't go to every away game these days so watch the odd stream etc. Will I share an opinion or view, yes, but I'll always bow to those at the game. Unless it's a major incident ie replays, you just don't see the formation at tactics on a screen whereas you do at the game. You see it being played out properly etc etc. TV isn't the same, that's all I'm saying.

2:59 baby!

I agree, but it`s the quality of the stream that is important. As i wrote earlier yesterdays was at times unwatchable.

I've written match reports previously having watched the game on Sky. I don't see that being a problem, although I do agree you get a better picture of the game and feel for it by being there.

There does seem to be a direct correlation however between the 5pm brigade - who have obviously watched on a stream - and the 10pm lot who were at the match. Those posting on here immediately after the match do seem to be much more extreme in their views, much harsher on the team, much quicker to call for the manager's head in general.

Three points on that...
1 - I'm not the only one who thinks this because it's a point that's regularly raised with me when I meet new people at games, I'd say 7 or 8 times out of ten people raise this with me.
2 - There's nothing necessarily wrong with being harsh on the team and the manager, but I can understand why it gets the backs up of people who were at the game to fight their way home from bloody Wigan or Blackburn or somewhere thinking we've done alright to sign in and find four hours worth of stuff from people who weren't there saying everything is sht and the sky is falling.
3 - It might actually have nothing to do with being at the game or not at all, it might be down to the individual personalities or the people who don't attend regularly but like to post about the game straight after. This is my theory anyway.

I don't want to create a situation where people who haven't been at the game don't feel they can post for fear of being shouted down by somebody who was. And I don't want people who don't go to a game because they can't afford to or just don't want to - it's only football at the end of the day - to be made to feel bad or inferior for that. I appreciate sometimes my posts may have done this so I apologise if that's the case.

But I think at the same time if you watch the game on a moody feed, then log straight in here at 16.55 with a thread titled SWP IS SHT or HUGHES ALREADY UNDER PRESSURE you should expect some grief. Again, I don't want create board where people don't feel able to respond to such posts with an honest and forthright opinion for fear of hurting somebody's feelings.

I do regularly talk to my dad after a game and say 'i'll be keeping away from the messageboards this weekend' - but you can't stop some people from being miserable.

The only thing i'd add is some of the non-football threads can end up being quite distasteful, but again, I tend to avoid reading them because I know what's coming.

More pictures of Rachel off Countdown would be good. Not so keen on Heather Graham

4. Perhaps the 5pm brigade are still livid from a performance, while the 10pm lot, have calmed down, sunk 8 pints, had a nice curry and are happy with the world again.

You may well be happy after 8 pints and a curry, but have you ever spared a thought for those around you?
I always dread coming on to LFW after a defeat, almost as if everyone's been eating Extra Spikey Flavour Crisps.

I think we should have a Hall of Shame section where Holloway can post photos of his lesbian incubators, Metallica can post his favourite ginger goths and Scrote Jones can post his Eastern European model fantasies that he's downloaded from google images.

You never know, there might be some duplication.

I like the site and nearly all the posters here are decent, helpful and knowledgable people.

What annoys me?

1. I think some of the abuse dished out on occasions is unnecessary. There are a few people who are too keen to put others down. I can think of the example of 'WeAreQPR'. I don't agree with much he says, but he seems like a genuine bloke who seems happy to give his opinion no matter what. I personally enjoy reading different opinions, so I find the sniping by certain posters to be pretty tedious.

2. The 'were you there?' kind of comments from the odd person at the game. Quite a few people are too eager to belittle others opinions just because they can see the back 4 shuffling across the pitch while the action and the ball on TV is in the opposite box. Yes, you get a better view from the ground, but I think people watching a game on a large screen tv see more than enough to form a decent judgement of the game.

The issue with banning WUM is how do you differentiate between a WUM and somebody who just holds a different opinion from the majority?

I'd never want to create a board where people felt intimidated into not expressing their true opinion. I've never agreed with a single word SpiritofGregory has said in eight years, but that doesn't necessarily make her a WUM, it just means we think differently about every single issue.

Spirit of Gregory is a girl? Fcking hell! Well, I now have proof, should my wife ever question me, that females get it wrong. All the time!

I wouldn't change anything from a content point of view, I think the posters that don't conform to the norm are quite funny. Its all about a difference of opinion on a messageboard. The content is amazing, oppo analysis, match previews and reports, it's such a high standard, I don't actually read much else about us on a national level 'cos it wont be as good.

That said, the one irk is the misspelling of our players' names. fair enough we've got the odd difficult surname like Nedum's, but 'Nelson' instead of 'Nelsen' is really winding me up the moment for some reason and lots of posters seem to do it. Maybe a player lexicon to cut and paste from?

One question and one suggestion;

1) What Is a WUM?

2) Anyone who starts a thread with "Sorry If This Has Been Posted Already" or starts a bloody thread Identical to other live threads should be forced to spend a week living with Bluce_Ree so they can learn the art of Elocution.
