New Kit 2013/2014 Season 09:47 - Apr 17 with 2836 viewsgeorgedale

Does anybody know if the new kit will go on sale for the last home game against Plymouth ???

I doubt it, I would have expected it to be announced by now if it was to be on sale before the Plymouth game.

Aren't we still searching for a shirt sponsor? My understanding was the Co-Op deal runs out at the end of this season, and their 'renewal' announced on the OS months ago wasn't the same as the existing deal.

We were told the vote had to take place last November so that the kits could be ready for the end of the season. They've had long enough to arrange a sponsor. Why the hold up? It may be easily explained but something should have been announced.

If the kit had been ready by the Plymouth game, that's potentially thousands of pounds of cashflow into the club for the start of the close season.

Its the sort of thing that the club should be liasing with the supporters Trust about, not the other way around. The lack of communication regarding such issues from the powers that be within the club just reinforce the commonly held belief that the Trust and fan base in general are just given lip service.

Of course when its time to extract money from the gullible cash cows (supporters), we will then be invited as very valuable members of team Rochdale to dip into our pockets again!!

Presumably there was some type of plan involved within the timeline of getting a new kit, this would include solutions to/explanations of problems encountered. That way fans need not chase up them up for news and the feelings TS describes could be limited so as not to create an issue.

If co op aren't going to be shirt sponsors next year was it not abit silly to have them in the kit choices?

When the kit vote took place that wasn't decided, as mentioned in the article.

Completely missed that, so they have definately decided not to take the third year then. Not quite on the same scale but not informing people will affect how people feel towards the club, with the Hill situation I'd imagine there's some waiting on news before picking up a season ticket.

Excuse the ignorance but why would the 2013/14 kit be for sale in April?

Sounds like we are trying to find ways to criticise the club?
I'm pretty sure that its standard practice to put the new kit on sale in line with the new season approaching ie June time?
I would be surprised to see any clubs selling next years kit in April.
Happy to be proven wrong.

From the article: "we will be working with JD to have the new shirts available at the end of the current season". Maybe your initial question could be answered by the club.

Any criticism, and it's been constructive with ideas, has centred around fans not being aware what's happening, not so much that there aren't shirts to buy.

And last year's shirts appear to have been available in April:

This year is the exception rather than the norm.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Rarely buy the new kits anymore, just stick to the retro ones, but I do like the look of next years home one so may invest.

Tangled up in blue.
