Just weren't clinical enough and missed crucial chances when we were well on top 2nd half. Really frustrating their goal was such a bog standard one compared to Camps stunning run and finish. Ah well - at least the pressure is still off going to Port Vale now.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Yes, a bit technical first half but Camps brought the game to life and we started the second half very much on top. Then, as we've done before but as I didn't expect us to do tonight, we conceded the midfield space we'd been dominating. Donald running out of steam didn't help either and Vincenti looks a shadow of the player we've come to admire, well off the pace.

Gillingham took advantage and probably deserved a draw in the end. Barnsley's win puts them level with them but it's not over yet. No complaints in the end, we played well for long periods and might have nicked it, but that's football.

While it's not over in terms of reaching the play-offs, we are now relying on other teams to eff up a lot more than we were doing, while still probably looking at winning our last three games.

We should still aim to get maximum points from these games, regardless of the play-offs, because there are a good number of teams below us who could leapfrog us.

That highest league placing should still be a target.

Yes. I am proud of the lads tonight. They really did give it all and so nearly held out for the win. How many headed chances did we have? But as soon as Donal went off you just new that we were going to let them off and so it proved.
Can't make my mind up about Gills. Were we good or are they on such a piss poor run they made us look good?
Never mind on to a tough game on Saturday. Let's win our last three. If we can keep our good players next season should be very interesting.

And did you notice that other thing in the BBC write up? About Camps' goal coming shortly after the tannoy announced that he had left his car headlights on in the car park.

As someone tweeted: Non-League budget; Premier League heart. Thought all team were really up for it which was great although the tendency to get over-excited partly led to leaving too much space in midfield which allowed Gills back in for the last 20 mins & their goal. Also felt at time PV wasn't right sub (sadly lack of game time seems to be showing with several players who only get sub roles). I'd have gone with Cannon, although as someone else wrote, there isn't an easy replacement for McDermott who's always exciting and last night managed to cut out his tendency to poor decisions after great first touches. Thought NML had a very good game & he & JB seem to fit well with McDermott - he adds pace & power (remember their defender sailing into the Sandy lane boards from a NML challenge). Also agree that Holt, Andrew & PV aren't a good combination but It's all about small margins - think we hit woodwork at least twice; another game they go in. Great performance, great game. what a season.

I thought we were excellent last night, apart from the finishing. We should really have been at least 3-0 by the time they scored. A depressing Goal to concede because it was so basic in nature. Cannot fault the desire though. We deserved more luck tbh.

Sounds like a frustrating one to watch and now gives us little or no margin for error for a play-off place. It was always a dream, but it looks like an even more distant dream now. Shucks.
