Good luck to the lad. He was certainly a valuable addition during his time with us. Good energy and passion. Things did not work out at Bolton but there may have been other influences there. Not sure if Peterborough is a good choice tho’

Why? They have a good squad and he is earning a good wage in an uncertain climate for his profession.
Hamilton is a very good signing for most clubs in League One.
I'd have welcomed him back with open arms, but given our reduced budget and us being well stocked in midfield, I doubt we were even in for him.
Cracking player on his day and could have replaced Camps.
Apparently offered £900 quid a week, after his release, by a league 1 club in the northwest on a 2 year deal. That’s us Accy Fleetwood Blackpool or Bolton then. Bet the kit man is on more than that at Bolton!
At that level of offer I could make an educated guess!

Unless there were decent assist, goal and win bonuses included plus assurances that if a club higher up the food chain put in a sensible bid said club wouldn't hold back Ethan's career. That is an insult of an offer and really hope that it wasn't made by our board.
'Only happy when you've got it often makes you miss the journey'
Not totally sure if the offer was made once he knew he was being released or it became official, would have to ask, but I don’t think for a second it was Bolton anyway.
He will probably be on 4K a week at posh and will develop well and be sold in 18m for 2 million, but they can afford the risk!

No insult, James, but an offer made within the existing viable wage structures now available to clubs such as ourselves, and all the better for it
£47000pa for a lad of his age (and ability) doesn't sound shabby to me; it's just the comparative wage values within football that have become skewed
Wielding your paddle is a more valuable public service, imo

It’s a good wage I agree DA. But in context that’s a fifth of what we were paying Josh and Calvin jointly. His worth would be way beyond what either of them earned recently.

£47k a year for playing football is hardly an insult when compared to the millions who are losing their jobs (including footballers). He is 21 years old, has played 40 games for 3 clubs and scored 5 goals, his best effort being 4 in 14 during his Rochdale spell. He could easily waste more time at Posh and his bank account may be fuller but his career could be at a standstill at the end of a couple of years there. I wonder what the American's stats say about him? I think we got the best of him so far, his time at Southend and Bolton was less than so-so. No reason to view him through rose-coloured specs. And is he worth more than Rathbone - 131 games 11 goals at 23 years old?

But that's an example of skewed wage structures that have brought many clubs to the brink, and needed a reset
Good to see it happening. All we need now is for other values to be reset where no-one is accused of "not being a proper fan"

Where has this 'apparently' information come from?
