Seven teams going for four spots now. Shame Oldham didn’t get a point at Southend, keeping a three point gap between Dale and those outside the top seven. Currently: Oldham 66 Halifax 63 Dale 60 Gateshead 60 ——— Southend 59 Altrincham 57 Tamworth 57 All teams have played 40 games, apart from us who have two in hand. With 4th/5th being the sides getting a home tie in the playoffs, those slots are now up for grabs as well all of a sudden. Of particular interest looking at the fixtures, the final day has Gateshead v Southend and Altrincham v Tamworth. |

From Kieran Maguire on X Oldham Athletic lost almost £3.2 million in 23/24. Losses were effectively covered by borrowing, with liabilities increasing to £10 million and owner Frank Rothwell lending over £7.1 million. Oldham bought players for £110k in the season. |
 | Forum Thread | I'm trying to find out the first name of Wood, a player from the team of 1919-20 by happyguy at 16:42 28 Mar 2025
Hi everyone, I was wondering whether there is anybody out there who can help me. I am trying to find out the first name of a player who played for Rochdale during the 1919-20 season, the first season that football resumed after World War 1. He was a full back and he played the vast majority of matches that season when Rochdale were in the Central League. One of these matches was an FA Cup First Round Proper tie against Arsenal, which ended in a 4-2 defeat, on January 10th 1920. I would really appreciate if there is anyone out there who can help me. These days, information from this era is so easily accessible and everybody seems to know everything. Thank you for your help. happyguy |

Great pace bowler who was an integral component of the great Lancashire team of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Deserved his test call up. One of the longest run ups to the wicket that I’ve ever seen though! Nice bloke away from the cricket as well. He was a neighbour of ours in Shawclough for a few years and used to enjoy a pint in the Healey Hotel. |

Be interesting to see if ourselves and other play off hopefuls strengthen today. Hoping we can bring in a couple. |

He’s now on the coaching staff at Matlock Town under interim manager Adam Clayton, another with a Dale connection. |
