Had a lift all lined with mates dad, on getting home from school found out he could no longer take us, he did however give us a lift to the motorway slip road where we were lucky enough to hitch a very thankful lift with another school mate and his dad who decided to go at the last minute. I remember that. After the game we were surrounded by the locals who wanted to "congratulate us" on our win and Fred Ratcliffes roller ended up with a house brick on the bonnet. Thankfully the Rozzers came and diffused the situation. Funny that as its not the first time we have had bother there. |  |

Your right it did get a bit tasty after the game, i seem to remember it was on a Friday night but could be wrong.

Was a Friday night and a few problems outside
Took the train back to Manchester. While waiting for the night bus at Cannon street station in Manchester remember a big fight broke out between 2 gangs with bricks and tools from a building site

Seriously if we had lost that game we may well have been one of those clubs that went down a few more leagues or out of business. That 1 result could have led to what is happening tomorrow
