Is there a new kit, or are we making do with the old one? 00:11 - Aug 20 with 17499 viewsVancouverHoop

Wouldn't be a bad idea. The mint-green change kit can go to the Sally-Ann though.

Interesting that BOS, Manning and Eze were not used as models for the kits, which probably indicates the Club doesn't expect them to be around much longer.

Nothing new to add from me. Like the home kit, though I wish the sleeves weren't so barren. I think it'll look better with patches, names, numbers etc., but for now, it's a 6.5.

Thinking of getting an away kit, though I agree that it looks like Forest. Regardless, it's a 7.5-8.

Good posts by Antti and DW.

Both are right when they say that the designers can hardly be blamed for, say, having red trim when our favourite ever shirts have red trim.

We're rightly precious about our beloved hoops but the designers can't please everyone. Even our favourite shirts are not universally loved.

I still like the home shirt. I'd like more blue on the sleeves, but it's got everything else right. It's a quality shirt and everyone I've sent it to today has rated it as nice, damn nice or gorgeous. Me, I'm sticking with 7.5.

As for the away kit - that's just kit porn.

On the Guinness shirt I think people voted more for the sponsors name than the red piping!

Wouldn’t have been voted best ever with ‘sellotape’ written across it.

The best away kit we’ve had in years in my opinion.

Get the sleeves are different but the hoops look pretty similar to me on the Adidas one, the Warnock season had a similar style as well.

The blue hoops were definitely higher, Dave, hence why the badge and Adidas logo were on the white hoop, not blue like now. That’s why it looks so white whereas the Adidas one didn’t.

I agree it does looks bit similar to the Warnock season kit, which I’ve always thought had too much white at the top of it across the shoulders...but the Warnock year’s kit had better sleeves too.

Very good spot, Noel!

Or at least they're not sure.

Could just be that Barbet is the best looking player at the club?... I’m no expert, mind.

People saying the sleeves look bare - presumably they'll have EFL and maybe BLM logos on them.

Bare bones.

I love these threads every year.
The fashionistas of Milan and Paris would be in awe at the intricacies of our rows involving size, shape, placement, shade and piping of hoops.
Everyone forgets about it once we've lost our first three and are 'sleepwalking towards relegation'.

Ha ha. True.

It’s our club’s visual identity, quite literally, we’re right to care about it, but yes, people won’t care as much after the first few results.

I just don’t like it. The sleeves! Won’t somebody please think of the sleeves!

Now given that this was recently voted the best QPR kit of all time I can see a very striking similarity between the Guinness kit and the new kit.

Plenty of red in this one, but of course the Adidas shirt has the three stripes running down the sleeve breaking up the white of the shoulders. The first hoop as one poster put it is a horizontal stripe (not to me it isn't).

As for the away shirt, we haven't always done all red tops but have a history of them dating back to the early 70's well before the Dennis the Menace shirt was ever thought about. We had this, which was a favourite of mine

This, short-lived effort from Admiral (half a of the 1974-75 season before the club switched to Umbro because of quality issues)

I remember my brother getting that one for his birthday. And of course the most fabled of the all red shirts was the Cup Final one

And all came with black shorts and socks. For me I like the home shirt, plain and simple and when compared to the way Nike or Adidas produce kits for clubs I like the fact that Errea allow free reign on design. A decent 8.5/10 for both kits.

That's the 85/86 shirt, the 83/84 shirt won the poll on Twitter recently.

The 83/84 shirt knocked out the 85/86 shirt in the semi final.

When I buy clothes from the Adidas website it has quotes such as, “The model is 6ft 1” and wears a medium”. It would be funny if that was applied to our away kit here; in Chair’s case, “The model is 4ft 10” and wears a youth’s shirt”.

The kit thing is always hit and miss and there have been some real misses.

At the end of the day what counts is the team wearing it and what they go out and leave on the pitch for us fans.

If we are wearing blue and white hoops of some kind and going out there, playing good enjoyable football and competing in the top half of the division who really gives a sh*t?

I'd rather have a really good team playing in a meh kit than an average or below average team playing in the best kit ever!

Never knowingly right.

I'm conflicted.

On one hand, watching a bunch of old cnts arguing over kits they would never buy anyway is very funny.

On the other, it would be quite nice if the players looked well turned out even if they are a bit rubbish.

Although it would have been much funnier if they were also in the pictures wearing WBA, Leeds and Newcastle kits.

I also love the fact that we have a good old debate about the kit and rightly so, if Reading's fans did the same they might not have to put up with the monstrosities they have year in, year out.

I was so wounded by that Nike kit that we had in the Bobby Zamora season, especially as that year Reading had a good one for a change.

All in all, I think these are ok. 6/10 both, largely agree with most of the posters here and am very happy that we are back to black and red, they should be our away colours always.

Valiant effort on both kits. Both pretty cool. Good job Francis.

The piping trim is from 60,s kits seen on shirts and also 70,s track suits. Had that design on a Woolworth track suit. Not called Woolworths though. That line design is on some retro track suit tops in the club shop.

Sadly never going to buy it as long as some two bit sponsor is blazoned across the front. How much training wear would they sell without Ashville poxy concrete again emblazoned for all too see.

It's the sponsors on the ar$e that got the most negative comments from most non-footy friends I sent the pictures to today.

Not that we can do anything about that now.

The home kit is a mismatch. The shorts (and socks) are actually OK so I don't get why didn't they put the same 4 stripes down the sleeves. Even more so why didn't they use the same blue on the collar and the sleeve cuffs rather than the weird pinky red colour so everything matches in?

If they really had to use red then why isn't the colour matched into the red of the sponser logo as in the photos I've seen that's not the case.

And Antii, your quite correct We Are QPR we are Fashionistas (et al of our facets)....When it mattered we were number one, renowned for being renowned .....the home of Stuarts of Shepherds Bush the mecca for away fans to come to try and dress properly (generally without much success lol).

I went overboard criticising last season's so maybe I'm overcompensating but both quite fine by me. Not sure people appreciate how much of a miracle a simple and clean 7/10 design and sponsor logo is these days - so many ways it could have been bad. Always credit a sponsor who's happy to have a logo coloured to suit the shirt - Royal Panda on this in black would have been terrible.

As many have said, the sleeve logos will balance out the minor white imbalance on the home. Black shorts and socks make the away kit as a whole.

That all being said, hard to argue with this:

most years I am like "whatever, it's grand"
This year I have to say, not a fan at all.

I think the shot of Barbet highlights that there is too much white on the shoulders and arms and not blue to balance it only the red trim - that should have at least been blue.

We are Blue and White Hoops
This is White and Blue

Doesn't work for me 4/10

Couldn't disagree more with this. Dominance of blue is the absolute #1 mistake to make with our kits, it's the difference between us and Reading (whose kit this looks nothing at all like, bollox Hunter).
