I think Campbell and Ball are going to be really important players for us next season- thought when he got the right service Campbell used the ball really well.
I like Campbell, when he gets the ball to his feet he's tricky and makes chances for himself and others.
Agreed with Dorsett as MoM. Other than the goal we defended well tonight.
Thought Kelly and Broadbent were poor in midfield, they ran through us too easily.

I’m of the same opinion re: Campbell. There looks to be a real player there but we won’t know for sure until we start playing twenty yards further up the pitch. His control and awareness are generally excellent and he has quick feet too. Even though he’s clearly not a target man, he wins his fair share of headers too.
In a stronger team (which I hope we have next season), I’d wager he’s got at least fifteen goals a season in him at this level.

Re Charman not coming on. Is it possible that the coaching staff know the players an incy wincy bit better than the Message Boarders, Facebookers and Twitterers?

Watched it back a couple of times & no obvious bobble. Miss of the season
Obviously an horrendous miss - on 1st viewing the only thing you can say is it was fired across quite quick ( and possibly raised off the floor)? It seemed to hit Ball rather than him controlling the shot - even then it was staggering it actually went over from so close!
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

I think that goes without saying.
I also think its fair for people to ask the question... he came in with a lot of fanfare, we beat other clubs to his signature, he has been here almost 8 weeks and started once with six or seven sub appearances.
He was clearly brought in with an eye on next season, but its equally disappointing that we haven't yet seen more of him.

Maybe you have a point, I would really like to see him upfront in Campbell's role. Come on, full of energy with 20 mins at least to play. We've not really been given a good look at Charman. He looks strong and can go past players

We’d be further up the league if (wrong thread, I know) ……. We STOP GIVING THE BALL AWAY!!!!!! Then we wouldn’t have to keep giving needless fouls away and inviting pressure on ourselves. All of our team are prone to it: sometimes even after looking up and trying to play a measured pass. This is my only criticism of our team. If we managed to cut that out we wouldn’t be too bad.

Obviously, they know better. I can understand though message boarders etc wanting to see our new proven goalscorer upfront, to see what he's capable of. He might smash in some goals. You never know.

He's played in these 'bounce' games, but I'm not sure whether he yet has 90 minutes under his belt in one go.
Scunny are surely now gone - barring a miracle - Owdham aren't that far behind, following their 'dead cat bounce', so things are starting to sort themselves out.
Agreed that he's one for next season primarily, as was also said about others, but I think he'll feature more from now on. He's been a pro for only 8 weeks. Let's not forget that.

Yeah some careless 'FORWARD!!!' balls but that's what the main stand are constantly shouting for (the vocal members of the stand anyway).
I don't want Total BBM ball but we looked knackered after 30 mins with the press that we were playing. It would have been a much easier job if we didn't constantly give it them back. Sometimes just some simple side to side and slow it down for a moment is the right thing to manage the game, neither team was ever in control of that game.
At least there was some entertainment in that today and some fight. The game could have gone either way, it wasn't pretty but we showed a bit more bravery with the ball and it nearly paid off on occasion even on that pitch.

He was a pro at Newcastle and went on loan to Accrington though.

He had to work/give his notice at his 'full time job' before he joined Dale from Darlo.
Regardless of his time at Newcastle he had gone backwards since then.
Yeah, meant that he’s been a pro for a lot longer than his time at Dale. He knows what it takes to get to full fitness and deal with training all the time, so it’s not a culture shock.
Surprised by no mention of Salford's snide tactics tonight - nasty niggly little wind-up merchants to a man. Would have loved to take all 3 points off them. Much more entertaining and promising performance tonight, typified by Ball's goal - all determination from cutting out the cross field pass to controlling it and beating the keeper. Inspirational stuff. Glad Dorsett put a display like that on too. EOC also very solid as was Lynch. Seeing how we can play makes the lacklustre performances all the more disappointing. I've come to terms with a diet of "managed relegation avoidance" for the remainder of the season now. Hopefully there'll be a few decent games thrown in for good measure and we have something to build on for next year.

For all their budget and highly paid players, they were there for the beating. They didn't look like play off contenders and yes, it had to be Lund who we left for a free header. We knew he would if he was given the chance.
Anyhow, I enjoyed that game, and happy with a point as a fair result. If we play like that every week we'd be higher up the table (other thread). And great to see us get our first goal of the month.
Finally, a tit bit from TVOS tonight......we are the only side in League Two without a red card this season. Maybe we need to toughen up a bit.

Can anyone explain why Lund was booed when he was subbed? Other than small minded pettiness? I clapped him off
His airplane goal celebration while sticking his tongue out in front of the Sandy, followed by ruining probably our 2nd best attack of the 2nd half by sitting on the floor ‘injured’ was probably enough to rile a few people up.
I didn’t boo but even I was a bit frustrated with his antics, but that’s what a player like Lund does and we’re missing that at the moment.
Wish I'd chosen a different username...

Think players these days just expect a bad reception when they return to their old clubs. He had a text exchange with Joe Thompson yesterday wondering if a “mad Rochdale fan” beeped him when it was in fact Joey.
We’re not all like bury fans Matty lad.

He looked injured to me. The ref stopped the attack, not him. Also I've absolutely no problem with ex players celebrating a goal. I know I would given the chance. It's only a game!

He was deffo injured - I was watching him as he twisted his knee. He stopped dead and tested it several times. You could tell from his face and body language he would play no further part.
For me it's an unwritten rule - you never celebrate in front of your old team. It's a respect thing.
