Didn’t want to be the first to comment about bringing ex Dale players back in, but it is amazing that the first 2 ex Dale players released have experience at centre half and that is the area where we have the least contracted players as of June. I liked Eubanks Landell when he was here. I hadn’t realised he payed so many games for the Shrews. He has a connection with Jim, but I would be surprised if that was enough for him to consider us. At 29 he is still relatively young for a centre half. Our release list will reveal a lot about RS’s thoughts one this past season. If he thinks we are nearly there, then more deals will be offered than players released. My gut feel is that he will release plenty so next year will be his team. For some what he does about Done and Dooley will set the tone. [Post edited 3 May 2022 21:47]

I didn’t realise Tutte was still even playing league football. Honestly thought he had already dropped into non league football, must be the link to Bury that had me thinking that

Released Players Thread 21/22 on 18:20 - May 5 with 19113 views | YadHoDale | Anthony Pilkington (also released by Fleetwood) is not only a good player, but if signed would be the seventh of the 16 Stockport players who were in the Wembley squad for the playoff final against Dale to subsequently play for us. If Keith Hill was still Dale boss we'd definitely be making enquiries (he signed the other six)!

I'm being a bit pedantic here but he'd actually be the eighth as Matt McNeil played for us in a pre-season friendly at Rossendale but didn't subsequently sign. Also you'd like to think Pilkington remembered our support when he suffered that horrendous injury at Huddersfield 11 years ago.

Would Tomas Holy GK released by Ipswich be out of our reach? We definetly need a good secure No1

6’9” but doesn’t command his area - bizarre but true, ask I pswich fans. I remember him playing against us for Gillingham, he wasn’t anywhere near as good as we thought he would be when we saw him!
