He's a defender with a bit of presence, he also provides an aerial outlet for the keeper and can take a throw in.

He defended well today but slow us down a bit when we had a few chances to attack, ideally we have a wide player in front of him.

He will do a job there especially under the circumstances.

More than happy with him at full back. It means we are playing a back four. I hope he stays there when Latibeaudiere is back.

I thought it was an obvious weak link and a better team would have made things more difficult for us today.

That's not a slight on Darling, but it's fairly mental that Russy is still trying to crowbar players into positions that simply don't suit them.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I'm not sure we have anyone else who can be solid at right back? I may be wrong?

I think what’s mental is a team competing in the championship that has to play players out of position because they never signed a full back through the summer or January. Absolutely crazy.

To expect him to become a flying wingback over two games is stretching it a bit , I thought he did just fine , limited going forward with a couple of aimless over hit balls but I thought today overall his best game for us .

Similar back tfour that we had in the winning run before the first Burnley except Wood on the right and Darling in the middle.
Nice to see the defenders being allowed to attack the high ball keeping us higher up the pitch enabling us to condense the midfield meaning we could mark the opposition player more closely and our forwards didn't so get isolated up front.
With Darling pushed forward for our goalkicks it meant we could actually win the aerial ball again keeping us on the front foot.

He did well but there is no way he should be there.

You can tell he’s not a natural full back, his thinking is that of a CB and natural central instincts when he gets the ball.

He’s a very good player but he’s a CB, could potentially play as a DMC but that should be the end of the experimenting with his positions. Same with our wide attacking players, none of them are natural wingers and it shows with the runs they make and also their natural instincts with ball at feet.

Plenty of times we got the ball wide and the oceans of space in front to drive with the ball was turned down due to the instinct to look inside or turn inside.

These are specialised positions and can’t be given to someone who “can” play there if needed when we have right backs on the bench. We will get exposed there if we do it for any prolonged period of time.

There was a good moment on swans TV when you seen russ pushing Harry up further, Harry listened. He is a young player with fire in his belly. He is a future club captain. 100%

When they have international players representing over twelve countries this century and a major trophy, seven seasons in the premier league, plus that European journey they should pop back in and have a chat.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

He had a decent enough game for me, we looked organised and played well, I did think that we were much the same as previous games for 20 mins or so, maybe because it was what I was expecting and programmed to expect it.

Anyway great win, lot of the players turned Ntcham, Walsh, Manning, Darling, Cabango, Cullen and Piroe were good, Cundle and Wood did ok as well, thought Grimes grew into the game and seemed far more vocal, especially in questioning the Ref.

Yes he did slow us down at time but mainly at the right times.
Yes did he look unsure where to play the ball to link up to the players in front of him from a position he is unaccustomed to,
On the plus side he added his height to our defensive line, and added a threat aerially helping us press further forward.
He attacked our crosses coming in late at the back post ball.
He looked to play the inside ball while offering himself as the return pass with forward runs instead of standing still reducing options.
He made some timely blocks to stop dangerous crosses coming in.
He took quick throw ins forward into space which left opposition players having to turn.
All things we wanted to see from our right sided player.
Will he make mistakes and get found out by better teams. Yes but it is not just down to him he has a team around him to make things work.
We kept things simple and beat a team who have beaten us twice and drawn with once, this season.

Considering he's a CB he did pretty well. He's not a long term solution though.

BTW, BC haven't beaten us twice this season - only once, in the cup replay.

Considering we haven’t got a right back good enough to play at this level, he’s done well. He also adds an aerial threat further up the pitch.
Only issue I can see if he’s up against a pacy winger, you know the type of player we haven’t got.

My bad won't be the first time I got things wrong but the draw even away from home but against a team that was struggling at the time seemed like a loss, maybe the negative thinking has worked its way into the psyche, the mind and memory plays tricks like that.
