Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 09:43 - Aug 14 with 4403 views | Antti_Heinola | Partially agree about mavericks. As a club we’re very romantic about our big no.10 loves, but equally the stick a lot of our flair players get and have got both on here and at matches doesn’t quite match up to that image. Adel not being POTY is a great example, as was the loud criticism of Eze being lazy by plenty of fat-arsed idiots. Can’t wait for Willock to be booed when he comes back for things mainly imagined. Well, no one ever said football fans were rational.

Along with his hamstrings, which he hammered playing Willock when he was not fully fit and for longer than our medical team advised cos he wanted a few results

Interestingly, his brother is now out of the Newcastle team for an extended period, same injury. Maybe its a family thing.

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 09:36 - Aug 14 by Northernr | Me too tbh, felt like a bit of us that one. |
Yup he looked good whenever I've seen him, surprised Robins released him is he still a free agent, I see Coventry signed a Dutch lad called Van Ewijk as the new right/wing back that Gyokeres money has come in very handy. Hopefully we keep the 3-4-1-2 system going forward and in that case we need another right/wing back, great to see Paul Smyth doing a good job but we need support in that position, like most other teams in the division we need to be in a position to bring fresh legs into the game as substitutes, ideally ones that will keep the momentum going and in an ideal world actually improve our performance.

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 10:19 - Aug 14 with 3993 views | daveB | It's a modern day thing I suppose but Willock seems to be getting pelters based on rumours and assumptions. Bloke had 2 bad hamstring injuries and hasn't really recovered. Brought here with the promise of we'll develop you and sell you on like Eze and we actively went out to block any move for him a year ago on the promise of a promotion push. That went well He's been on the bench all year, only started 6 games, I'm sure he's not interested at the moment but we only have ourselves to blame for that for all the bullshit we fed him last year Maybe he is the bad guy in all this I don't know but I find it hard to buy that the shy hard working kid of a year ago is a trouble maker. That said if we get 2 million for him and get in Crooks who I think is very good at this level I'd snap your hand off

Crooks is also a utility player so can play in a lot of different positions. I do still think that we are in need of a RB and a ST, but I do imagine with us getting 2mil for Willock, we can reinvest that into one or two free transfers wages. I think Nyambe or Dabo at RB would be good, and Stansfield up top on loan would all be sensible signings.

He's still a free agent as far as I can see which is a surprise.

If he's throwing a strop and not giving 100% he's a bad egg. If he's been mistreated by the club then its more understandable but still, he should be giving 100% especially last season when we was starring relegation. It's a wierd one. Lots of rumours about his old man playing hard ball on negotiations. Seems very messy. All the talk of Beale over playing him is irrelevant too has he's gone now so why can't he give 100% to Ainsworth. Bringing him on 96th minute adds more fuel to the fire with speculation. There's something not right there. It might be since his injury he's lost his form or confidence so I'm not sure what Ainsworth I'd doing really when he's the one manager you'd expect to put his arm around him and help him through it. Just another questionable thing happening at the club. If fans were put in the picture and the club was honest about what's going on then these rumours wouldn't circulate.

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 10:49 - Aug 14 with 3644 views | bosh67 | I genuinely feel that Willock's hamstrings are 100% the issue here and that he's never been truly fit to play. I agree that Beale seemed to thrash him in the run of games he played well in. He has problems with both hamstrings and then probably an inevitable mental health issue trusting them at all. Perhaps that has affected the way he acts around the club? I just don't see him as being a trouble maker. However, perhaps there is something in the thought that he and Ainsworth don't get along but it feels more like Willock's mind isn't in the right place and his confidence is very low. That said if he goes to Boro, plays every game and scores a shed load of goals I may reconsider this post. I doubt it though. I think the injury thing is a big problem for him and he can't get past it.

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 23:06 - Aug 13 by Northernr | Given the position Ainsworth is in, it would be perverse for him to be doing that to one of the few good players he does have at his disposal without a seriously valid reason. Ainsworth isn’t the problem here. |

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 11:30 - Aug 14 with 3171 views | WokingR | Whether he's a good egg or a bad egg is all a bit irrelevant really. Clive won't be at liberty to say anything specifically, that's not how sources are respected and kept, but if reading between the lines isn't enough - ask yourself this. If Willock - who is now fit and able to play (recent 'injury' reports notwithstanding) - was motivated and keen to do his best for the team, do you think Ainsworth would be playing him? He's probably one of the most talented players GA has ever had, on talent alone he's one of the first names on the team sheet, so if he's not making it on the pitch, it's because of something else.

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 11:45 - Aug 14 with 2961 views | BAWHoops | Willock gave us about 12 good months, the rest has been poor. Lockdown season he clicked into gear towards the end, Warbs final season he was outstanding and then got injured. Then gave us about 10 good games under Beale, got injured and came back a few weeks later and has been absolutely crap ever since. He's done nothing since that injury away at Sheff U and has had plenty of opportunities to do so. Also made it very clear in the last year he doesn't want to be here.

Willock to Boro latest Twitter rumour on 12:15 - Aug 14 with 2593 views | A_B_4 | Sadly (given the player we thought we had on our hands just 12 months ago) this feels like the best we can hope for. £2 million in our current position can’t be sniffed at - particularly given the way other players have exited the club in recent years (BOS, Manning, Robinson etc).... He clearly isn’t in the manager's plans though so the sooner this is resolved the better. Crooks would be fantastic but at 29 (turning 30) we would be getting him as he leaves his prime and it's impossible not to question how he will fit within the wage structure here. Again, everything Northen has said about next year's FFP headroom probably applies equally here. Not that Crooks wouldn’t still be effective in the league next season but the need to operate within our means and keep to a budget.

could be other reasons than he is a bad egg though. Ainsworth himself has said he wanted them to play a style like Wycombe which Willock can't do so there hasn't really been a place for him in the team He'll go and be put in the same bracket as Bright and Manning, bad eggs used the club etc but the club don't come out of this well either, had an outstanding player on their hands and completely miss managed him to the point you can't even pick him

As ever its all about opinions and viewpoints, he won't sign a new contract, we have to sell, the club can't afford the sort of contract and wage he's looking for, why people want to keep running the club down, well that appeals to some more than others.
