No interest in Vipotnik ? Not true ? Oh yes it is ! on 18:00 - Mar 21 with 2628 views | Whiterockin | Released from the restraints of Williams he seems a much better player, but he is still makes a lot of errors. Missing relatively easy chances and taking up poor positions. Will this improve with game time, it should. Will we be patient with him possibly but I think it will depend on who the coach and the system he plays. 8 games left this season and probably 4/5 next season before the window closes, plenty of time to impress or not.

Liam breaks it down very well in his report. And people have to understand this is source lead, not some bizarre Capology nonsense, the clue is in the report 👍

The 1.2 broken down . Will that be put into the price of any deal done for him? The way I read into that is the player has power to move on if a head turning offer comes in. His agency could also say scratch that remaining payment as more of a financial incentive to let him go. Obviously I would love to see VIP thrive here as next year he hits a purple patch 5 mil will look like pennys. Any championship player who can score 15/20 goals is worth 10/20 mil these days.

Where do you get the 15/20 goals from? That’s Piroe numbers. He’s had two good games all season (Blackburn and Middlesbrough). Completely accept he’s looked a different player under Sheehan, but that’s a hell of a stretch for the player he’s been for the last five games, let alone the thirty before that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It would be a matter of finding a club who don't send scouts to watch targets, and I suppose they are about.

Are we one such club? Much of our scouting now seems to be remote and stat based.

That wouldn’t work. Up until Sheehan took over, he was getting 15 or 20 touches per game then getting subbed after an hour. Fine if you’re Haaland and you’re scoring most games. Not great if you don’t score many and don’t create chances for teammates. Silver lining is he does look much more involved now. I’d be really happy with £5m though

Wait until we get Widell in and unleash him in the championship. From what I've seen he looks like a high octane all action attacking midfielder. He'll draw in defenders more than any player we currently have which will create space and opportunity for VIP next year. He should be hitting double figures if he's injury free.

This may well be true. I’m sure he’d be better with better players around him. I’d be more than happy with £4 or 5m for him though.

He is a player with potential. It is pretty pointless signing like this if you do not give them time. Many footballers fulfill potential after a couple of seasons at around 24. Adebayor was bambi on ice at Vips age. I do not like to mention big Vik

He’s had a hell of a lot of game time. He’s started or come on in almost every game. Adebayor is a weird comparison. McBurnie and Piroe were both at the same club and playing in the same division as Vipotnik when they were his age. Cullen was too, but we had better striking options a couple of years ago. More relevant yardsticks surely?

Adebayor and Big Vik are top superstars. Piroe and OMcB are not. OMcB never will be. I recall seeing Adebayor at 22 and he looked like the guy that came after Sanogo who did nothing. Just an example of a young g centre forwards who kicked on. If Vipotnik kicked on a little every year he wi go for very big moneys.

Vipotnik had a very modest scoring record at a level lower than the Championship, but his international caps led our decision-makers to believe he could step up. Unless he starts to score more goals, I don't see another club meeting anywhere near the reported valuation of £4 to £5 million.

He's not sharp enough and doesn't anticipate the ball coming to him, needs to much time I don't think any coach can change any of that, its down to the player to read the situation. Cullen is better than him in those situations. Cullen has improved without a doubt and is now playing as an attacking mid which has helped him a lot and is a better player for it, had a decent game last night as well. We can do better on both though.

Agreed anything north of £4M I would seriously consider and take our chances. Any fool can name the odd player that possibly we should have held on to. But to balance it you have to look at the players we moved on for money and have done nothing since.

What about Vipootnik makes you think he could get to the level of Adebayor or Gyokores? It seems like you’re advocating not selling players for £4/5 m just in case they turn out to be superstars. For every Gyokores there are hundreds of players who don’t look like they will develop into anything special and then don’t. McBurnie in our first season in the Championship (around the same age) was light years ahead of where Vipotnik is now.

He played well, could be he plays feeling less pressure playing for Wales than he does playing for Swans.
