My least favourite part of going to QPR is having to stand up whenever anything positive happens. Between the non-existent knee room and my own failing limbs I just can't be c*nted with standing up to see that we almost got a corner.

I almost cried for my younger self when I heard myself telling colleagues that I was going to pop down and check out the new M&S at lunchtime. I've become middle-aged and middle class. Boom.

Add this one, add that one, and you're rattling before breakfast. I've not succumbed to hearing aids yet but know they're in my future; I use earplugs at gigs now otherwise the already constant tinnitus becomes unbearable for weeks rather than days. This is my life soundtrack, approximately 10000 Hz https://www.checkhearing.org/tinnitusmatching.php?rangeHz=0.851¬e=87& |
I can empathise when it comes to the tinnitus . I reckon mine is at a higher frequency, but it's my constant companion now. Maybe I should give it a name... Another constant and unwelcome companion is my posterior vitreous detachment, or rather, the issues it causes. We've just moved into a more or less brand new house where everything is spartan and bright and the dazzling white walls of the downstairs toilet are particularly good at highlighting the mass of floaters in my eyes. Sigh

When I had retina surgery they had to drain the fluid in my eyeball. Floaters disappeared as the fluid came back over the next few weeks.

Couldn’t agree more. Trouble is, you’ve then got the bloke in front’s backside presenting itself in front of your face. Also, there’s the nagging feeling that, if you don’t make the effort to ‘Stand up if you love Rangers’ every five minutes, then you’ll immediately be denounced as a some sort of football quisling.

Quite possibly accessed by means of a Stannah stairlift (other stairlifts available). Chamber pots available on request. |
Do you think that it’s because we’ve spent so long sitting with our knees up against our chests in the cramped seats at LT that we’ve all got dodgy knees and hips?

| Middle Aged Blokes Club on 17:27 - Nov 18 by FDC | For me it's the fact that I need sleep like never before, but I've never really accepted I'm no longer in my twenties I'm convinced I'd be out raving all weekend if only i had the time and less committments, all despite the fact that I very clearly need to be in bed by 9.30 or else I'm tired tomorrow. In fact a friend has invited me to Burning Man next year, to DJ on one of those desert float things, and I'm all excited about it whilst my wife rolls her eyes at me hurling myself into what is clearly going to be a sad pitiful death in the desert |

ha, a week living off of hallucinogenics and UV rays... "reinvigorated" wasn't quite the word that came to mind tbh! It's one of these where I'm going to regret it whatever I do: Don't go - missed out. Go - destroyed myself 1000s of miles from home...
