| Edwards 16:00 - Jan 8 with 1193 views | grumpy | Returning to QPR. He joined us in July 2024,was a player of the season for them. On joining us he played just 12 times. Why do players form appear to go backwards on joint us? Watch him shine for QPR now. I’m not so sure what’s more depressing, what’s happening on the pitch or off it. | | | | |

Along with Stephens and Manning they're the last of the Martin trash that need to be gone.

I think that Sanda looked like a pretty awesome player on his EPL appearances. I was surprised that we loaned him out

Because he was played out of position. He’s not a back-three central defender - he’s a ball playing/running back four player or a DM. He was practically playing RB for us at times. Loads of feedback from QPR supporters I know that he’s the next John Stones! Yet another terrible decision by SFC… | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I don't think Woods is good enough & THB just ain't as good as he thinks he is. I think that THB is one of our biggest problems. Seems to want to do everyone else's job instead of concentrating on doing his own job properly. [Post edited 8 Jan 20:53]

Stick him in a back 4 with full backs who can actually defend and pair him with a decent central defensive partner like Jimmy Dunne and I think he'll look much better than he's been whilst he's played for us You can also add a more experienced manager who's not tied to a flawed tactical system

| Edwards on 20:38 - Jan 8 with 592 views | PatfromPoole | I think Edwards would have been a good defensive midfielder. He lacks the pace and strength to be a top CB, I think. But he has skill and can pass a ball. I would have kept him and sold one of the bad eggs Flynn Downes. [Post edited 8 Jan 21:04]

We did the same to Paul Onuacho. He was never really given a chance, he would have been a revelation in Championship If we'd kept him & Janny B we'd have solved two of our problem positions.

Never saw Tall Paul play in the flesh so I couldn't comment With Bednarek I would imagine he was very keen to move on, another 46 games in the championship or likely to win a title with Porto this season, bit of a no-brainer I would imagine

Fella, Did you ever have the misfortune to see him play live in a stadium? 4 goals in 36, earned money under false pretences, a bluffer Found his level now in the 10th best European league, Turkish pub league

That Turkish Pub lge is probably similar level as Championship & he's scoring for fun in that lge. I wasn't saying he was good enough for Premier lge but he was a good fit for Championship particularly if he had Fellows & Scienze providing decent crosses for him. For sure he'd have been better than Downes or Archer.

| Edwards on 10:49 - Jan 9 with 93 views | grumpy | This old chestnut of 'hes scoring goals in an inferior league' pops up again How many players have done exactly this and gone on to be decent players? Galatasaray,Fenerbahce,Beşiktaş,Trabzonspor and Samsunspor are decent sides that have beaten top English sides in their time. Galatasaray are a particularly good team. Guess who Galatasaray wanted to sign? Paul was with us 2 years and the stats say he played 36 games and scored 4 goals but that doesn't tell you how many he started and that he played under some of the worst managers Saints have ever had, who pursued a system that didn't play to his strengths. Yes I have seen him play and often I watched him tracking back to midfield so he might see the ball. Remember he was playing in the Premiership like that. We should have kept him and used him as a target man and he would have been useful defending corners. I 'm not saying he would have been the answer in the Premiership but worth a chance in the Championship. Our problem is more off the field than on it,we keep getting it wrong. He only played 1536 minutes for us & most of that was made up with just a few minutes from the bench late in the game. The point I was making on previous post was that with Fellows & Scienze playing he' would have had decent balls into the box he would have been a handful for Championship defences. He was also a big unit to use as a target man capable of holding the ball up we just don't have anyone like that in the team. That is exactly the sort of player we are missing & we'll probably go & waste money on some unknown striker for the future not rhe present. | | | |

Average at best in a poor team I would say. We already have CBs who are caught out of position and give the ball away in silly situations too easily. [Post edited 9 Jan 11:52]
