But as important a three points as we'll ever get, when we needed them. Really enjoyed the game, good attendance and Boston worthy of staying in the National League That save from Olly just after we'd scored probably the most important save of the season Watched the game with someone who'd never been to Dale before, not even a football fan as such, but she ended up jumping out of her seat when the final whistle went Keep it going lads

Barlow could and should’ave easily had a brace. But the subs and Moss served up a good winner. Agree Perry has been great. When Beckwith got injured I doubt any of us thought that we would just be able to carry on regardless. But for a youngster having his first real taste of men’s football he has been excellent. We couldn’t have asked for more. Really do think that with a full pre season under his belt that Smith could be a real asset if we were to sign him. Probably due to him being a sub he does seem to score goals of real consequence. If he and his brother signed that would be a result. Not good at equations but here’s one 8 more Mani goals, 4 more Dev goals and 6 more clean sheets will = promotion. Especially if two of those clean sheets are at Scunthorpe and Southend. Dev does seem to like the air in Southend. Will reiterate I hope the club shell out to stay down south between the Eastleigh and Southend games. I really think we need to do everything possible to take maximum points from the game in hand. UTD

With him and Moss comfortable on either flank, it gives us the option to switch them mid-game too. The winner was so well constructed too. A perfect example of everyone knowing the plan. Thought the crowd remained patient and very supportive throughout yesterday as well. There’s a definite understanding around trusting the players and management to do what they feel is best.

I'm not an Allarakhia fan but seems the rest from playing has done him good because, with the tweak that puts East alongside him all game and reducing his defensive duties, he was effective yesterday. Moss's ariel threat at the back post proved decisive again but biggest praise to Henderson - his brilliant 'Fernadez-like' angled ball created the opening - as someone else posted, you can't beat class. ps - the crowd near me in the Main Stand wasn't entirely patient, if this season isn't pleasing them nowt will.

If the one in the 6th minute had found a touch from Mani or Moss it could have been a more comfortable win. Allarakhia offers more going forward than Pritchard and Moss, but has obvious flaws defensively against pacey, direct wide players. I suppose who doesn't! With Tobi out we need that attacking option from wing back.

That tactic with East drifting out to the right is yet another example of just how attacking this team is set up. Any assumptions around being focused on defence or not looking to go forward with intent can be quickly dismissed when looking at our chosen formation. Three defenders, two of whom have licence to join attacks. Two wing backs who are stationed high and wide - Moss is often one of our furthest forward players. One midfielder left to patrol the centre of the pitch whilst East is conspicuously part of the constant threat and possession on the right hand side. That we wait patiently to exploit whatever gaps might appear with possession at the back shouldn’t detract from how adventurous the players are positionally.

| Refwatch - Rochdale v Boston United on 14:27 - Mar 8 with 1268 views | frenzied | Barlow contributes so much to the team at times but for a fella with such a great touch and awareness he seems to look like a deer trapped in headlights when it comes to shooting at goal but a least he’s not frightened of having a go | | | |

| Refwatch - Rochdale v Boston United on 20:42 - Mar 9 with 473 views | Daley_Lama | Just watched the Inside Dale highlights and as thought, at the time, there was a clear and obvious push on Gordon from the corner where he ended up in the back of the net, rather than heading into an empty net. (5:05 mins timestamp) Made me think of the York penalty at Morecambe in similar circumstances, denying a goal scoring opportunity, red card and penalty in that game, nada in ours. Not a gripe as we won the game but shows how individual decisions on an incident by refs can have massive impact on results. | |

That was very much my impression, looking to time his header then suddenly having his momentum altered in a way that doesn't just happen without an impact from elsewhere No idea what the ref thought he was looking at, since the change of momentum couldn't have been anything else but a considerable shove
