I'd tend to agree, starting with Henderson reduces our attacking prowess in the most important phase of the game. At his age it also increases the chance of him picking up a injury, i prefer to see him come on for the last half hour.
We've had three season defining games in the last twelve months..Spennymoor, Southend, York and we've had all of them in the grasp of our hands but failed to get over the line. We really should have won all three. Sunday will be opportunity number four and it's now getting to the time where we really need to start winning one of these. It's not down to bad luck or anything else, four opportunities all in our own stadium, you cant ask for anymore than that. It's time the players delivered now, not just for us but also for themselves. Whenever we rip up the plan and go off cuff we look a different team and score goals, lets see a bit of that on Sunday and see how many goals we can rack up. |

Nobody is talking about Whatmuff and how he could have won the game for us...yes, his shot-stopping was exemplary and kept us in the game and that is his real strength. But his kicking is woeful !!! He kicked the ball out to touch a few times therefore wasting time and possible opportunities to test York. But even worse is his kicking to Mani. He often puts too much force on the ball and it goes straight to their keeper. Simples...put less force onto the ball and get it to land a few feet before Mani not a few feet beyond him. OR start the kick 5 feet further back. This has been going on all season. Why the management team have not picked up on it only heaven knows. In terms of kicking the ball, what on earth is Lillis doing in training with him??
I would have thought this would be the easiest part of being a goalkeeper but our top keeper is showing us it is very difficult to get right.
Just what could happen if he got it right ?
Our chances of scoring against York were few but in my opinion Whatmuff could have added vital chances if only he could have perfected his long kicks.
Oh, and again, with chances to score being very low, why does Mani push his man in the box and our vital chance comes to nothing ????

The goalkeeper position is one we will find difficult to fill next season…Whatmuff will be elsewhere hopefully he finds a club who have him as their number 1 choice and not sat on the bench.
For such a young fella he’s been terrific for us…I thought the keeper that Gateshead had against York looked very capable ..on loan from Slough I think.
Let’s hope Olly can get us promoted before he exits | | | |

Smith for me has offered nothing in any of the games he's started either, would still back an off song Rodney to be more likely to produce a moment of magic. Didn't Rodney miss a couple of months with a virus a couple of years back, maybe he's never really gotten over it? Might be time to move on from him in the off season, irrespective of which division we find ourselves. | | | |

I think Smith is a good footballer, but he is more of an impact sub, rather then a starter.
Sam Waller signed a 6 month contract at Harrogate in January and to my knowledge he as not played a game for them, he seems to be the sub goalkeeper. I don't know what Moulden is doing. We will miss Whatmuff next season and hopefully we give him a leaving present of a playoff winners medal. | | | |

Needs so much more. It would help the times he "jogs" in a circle pretending to press players, of course, but after that his first touch is horrendous, running with the ball he never looks in control and can't travel in a straight line, cant take on a player he just runs into them, gets knocked off the ball by weaker players, seems to always scuff it or fall over when trying to shoot any way that isn't a simple side foot shot.
He's been so woefully out of form for months and looks lost half the time. Could be a good impact off the bench like at Sutton, but even then I suppose Hendo saved his blushes after a masterclass in how to fluff a simple chance from 6 yards...
Probably should have been sent off and his season over at the weekend too.

Not sure about goalkeepers being difficult to find, most goalkeepers i see in the lower leagues are all decent. Watmuff will be a star, no doubt about that. I'm assuming McNulty will now see out his three year contract, he came within two minutes of winning the league on Saturday and is best placed to recruit over the Summer and finish the job off should we miss out in the play offs Players have also commited to next season and Jim as manager would have played a big part in their decision. Anything approaching this seasons points total will win the league next season i think and the likelyhood is our squad will improve again by the start of it. We've seen improvement season on season under McNulty and irrespective of gut feeling or decisions made, thats' a fact that has to be respected. There's no reason why that trend wouldn't continue next season if we are still in the National League. | | | |

Improvement in the product on the pitch, the whole point of recruiting over the summer will be aimed at that. A Cian Hayes type wide player, another goalscorer who can stay fit and compliment Mani, another quality central defender and a goalkeeper. You don't accumulate 106 points by not already being a good team and any improvement makes you even better. | | | |
