Hopefully this draws a line under everything now.
Imagine we'll see the announcement soon that Magnay joins as no.2 and a bit of clarity on other backroom staff (Lillis etc.)
Going off the podcast with Cameron it would appear our faith will still be (and rightly so) put in MRKT, so with the players expected back early July and our first competitive game vs Tranmere on Aug 1st I would like to start seeing some players arriving now. We must surely be close with a couple at least.
Whilst the nucleus of the squad is still good, we need to freshen up, get some new faces in and start fostering that player bonding that served us so well last season, with a never give up attitude.
I thought bringing Taylor & Done in was a masterstroke last year, they both get the club and have at times in both their careers been team mates of Jim's. It's no surprise they have followed him to Stockport and I wish them well. |  | | |

I firmly believe Taylor and Done was a big factor in the teams success last season. Crucially the message from the club states Taylor & Done, plus Shannon the head of analysis and technical scouting as left the club.
But Josh Lillis is still down as a goal keeping coach, I would like to think Henderson would sign a new contract, because of his attachment to the Dale and he indicated that he felt fit enough to carry on. If this is the case the hopefully Watson and Magnay would bring Hendo into coaching set up, because he was involved in the coaching last season. Clearly Watson would need to bring in some people, but could promote the club Analysis to become head of Analysis for example. He may bring people from the North East (hopefully not Williamson), but may also look to bring in people who know the club to help.
However I would like to hear how recruitment is going on, as he or MRKT identified good EFL players to build on the squad and take us forward as a club. | | | |

The main man and the one who the players cite as being responsible for our promotion was McNulty. His failing over his first two seasons was probably trying to do too much himself but a lot of that would have been down to a lack of finances. Every manager has assistant and coaches to help get his philosophy over but it's ultimately the manager who gets sacked for poor results, it's only fair they get the credit for any success. There is no continuity at the club now in the coaching department because they have all gone over to Stockport. Training starts in probably two weeks time, Watson's going to be a busy fella with recruitment needed both on and off the pitch. |  | | |

No, i never said that Done and Taylor didn't deserve any praise, i just rebuked the suggestion that they were the reason (vital cog)we got promoted and not the manager. It was McNulty who recruited them both in the first place. It's always a team effort but promotions and relgations, it should always be the manager who takes the credit./blame. Yes, it looks like a clean sweep out at the Club.....did Josh or his father have any connection to Stockport?
Josh lives in Walsden so it will be a trek clockwise round the M60 if he goes....good luck anyway. | | | |
