Worth extending until the end of the season if you ask me and needs doing now. There will be plenty of clubs after him when the transfer window opens if he continues in this vein. He got an assist for Hayes’s goal but could anyone from the Pearl Street advise if it might have been going in anyway? Difficult to judge from the Sandy.

Looked like a complete mis hit..keeper would have saved easily Hayes intervention sent it the opposite way

Absolutely. What a leader, in a very calm and composed way. Wilson and Tasker should be soaking up as much as possible from him. Flint and tasker is developing into a decent partnership with Wilson offering that pace on the cover. If we can get Beckwith match fit a back four of Tasjker, Flint, Wilson and Beckwith looks decent to me.

Wilson catching their beakaway and dispossessing him first half was a key moment, plus his ability to carry the ball forward, which breaks up the passing around at the back routine, show he's going to be an assett after a shaky start with Dale

I remember thinking it's just going to skew wide before Hayes got his head to it
It was definitely going wide before Hayes redirected it into the net. Holloway said it hit Hayes in the face and he knew nothing about it - what a pleb!
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Tasker is a real player. Looked even better at left back with the ability to cut inside. Agree on Wilson too, there’s a player there. Word for Sherring who had his best game in a Dale shirt at right back.
What continues to stand out is the standard of football so far this season. Teams struggle to retain possession so often. There’s little to fear at this level.
Agree about Tasker (class) & Wilson (if he gets his head up for the pass after the driving run) but Sherring lost half a dozen headers which is worrying for a CB. But yes, whilst EFL2 is more physical than NL, the technical side is surprisingly ordinary ... so far!

Dale survived all those decades in the fourth tier through being "ordinary"
When we fell into the NL a perception might've arisen that all of a sudden, "the EFL" was some kind of place where only the better than ordinary exists. The standard is higher than the NL of course, but not by much. Can't say i'm surprised; all we needed to do was get organised under a new manager, which we're doing, and in pretty good time all things considered
I think we could prove to be better than ordinary in this division, whilst having no expectations other than consolidation

Agree, that would be a strong back four

I didn’t realise how vocal Wilson is until I was at pitch level in the food queue. Not sure if he started like that with us but has Flint also given him the confidence to put his own stamp on things too?
95% unpopular

I’m hoping the fact that Watson wasn’t asked about his absence means it was just a case of him missing out this week.
It’s clearly a blow when we lose players through injury, especially when we’ve so many out but Taylor’s absence yesterday gave us a glimpse of how we could play longer term.
With Francis sitting and Gilmour and Adeeko ahead of him we actually set up a bit differently. When East and Pettit are back that could be a regular option.
It also brings the conversation back to how many players we have in certain areas and whether moving some on will have to be looked at. Injuries at a crazy level are the only reason we haven’t multiple players not involved after training all week.

I also wondered if Hayes may have been offside but, having seen footage from more or less straight in line from the Main Stand, there’s a Swindon player playing him on. Difficult to tell but it might even have been Ball.
