Getting Fleeced Down The Bush Match Fred 01:08 - Oct 13 with 23718 viewsFredManRave

Seeing as I'm unbeaten in Match Threads, and especially bearing in mind it was a match thread that I think 80% of supporters who expressed a preference believed we were going to lose, I'm taking ownership of creating the next one, which will be a winning one.

The Rams are coming to town, they've won once all season, and we're long overdue a home win, achievable even if we finish the game with around 8 or 9 players that can still walk.

So lump on for the win, Ram Lambs to the slaughter, what could possibly go wrong?!

R's 2 - 1 Rams

Charles was impeccable again. Excusing the goal at the end, he snuffed out any hint of danger.

48.2%

5th in the table having only one once in 6 games. How nice to get a juicy win. Hopefully we can actually put out 11 men on the weekend.

Easy. As long as they let us use mobility scooters.

Gutted only watched the second half, which wasn't the greatest half of football.
Poke missed an absolute sitter.. which would have made it 5.. not much else, very scrappy half and a nasty injury.
Good win, but being above Birmingham when we play them may have been a psychological edge

Good win and exactly what we need to be doing at home.

Less impressive second half.

We have a strong base of the team which is helping us enormously with higher standards now.

Kemper was excellent.
Edwards is playing so well each game.
Smyth has improved so much since Julien became manager.
Kamara is doing a lot of good work in our midfield which may go unnoticed too.

Always a worry about these ongoing injuries we get.
I hope Mbengue is ok but it did not look good.

No idea where the referee got so much additional time in both halves.
That really deserved to be a clean sheet.

Not sure how it came across on stream but a very uncanny experience in the ground tonight.

So stop start, constant head injuries, another slightly weirdly awarded penalty. And we didn’t actually play that fluently considering the scoreline but looked confident and refreshingly clinical.

Not sure if none of us know what to do when cruising at home but felt like the atmosphere never caught up to what was unfolding on the pitch and it’s an odd one having the game wrapped up so soon. Never went into full-on party mode despite a bit of oleing and Zamora stuff.

19min total stoppage time. Dunne running over to the stretcher for Mbengue capped off an all round weird game.

Hope it’s not as serious as it seems for Amadou or leaves us with Adamson and, gulp, Lamptey as recognised right backs unless I’m missing someone out.

Great result but not the jubilant vibes you’d expect to go along with it.

19 extra mins on a game with extra mins because of cracking down on time wasting….

Not time wasting but 2 really bad injuries. Langas in 1st half must have taken most of the 9. Loads of subs 2nd half + the Mad Ben injury. If your biggest gripe is added time, I'd take a look at the scoreline and the Championship table.

I've really enjoyed watching him in that half, Toasty. Nice movement, lovely positioning, lovely touch in the build-up to the Vale goal, had a fine effort tipped over very close after a great trap, and very close to a tap in after reacting well to broken ball.

A few stray passes, but I found that half from him enjoyable and encouraging.

Great result.

As I only listened via comms with Sints and Tyler, It's great to hear also that Koli had a great game despite not scoring.

C'mon u Rs

Won that game in 3rd gear for most of it. Pity we couldnt keep a clean sheet and stay 4th. Hope Mbengue isnt serious. Fear the worst though.
Down to two fullbacks now for Saturday. Think JCS might come in and Ronnie into the 6 role as well. So pleased for Lloyd to score at home. Works his nuts of for the team. Kone better tonight. Adamson again very solid and a great addition to this squad.
Smyth very good again, very direct in carrtying the ball.

Great result and if we can get through Sat with a result and no more injuries it will be a good 3 game week.

Smells like a trout farm in here

I feel slightly odd after that as well.

Probably just the injury deflating the mood, but I think you're right that the main plus was that we were clinical.

Got the job done by half time, yes a weird 2nd half and probably always was going to be, Derby had to show some guts as they were very poor in the 1st half. Shame about Mbengue's injury did not look good. Anyway great result a strong home win at last.

On the way home.

Biggest win at home for a while, but the flattest atmosphere all game. Weird. Probably due to Derby shithousing from the first minute and the broken play. Probably our least impressive performance of the season, but it says more about the dog shyte opposition than us.

Mbengue injury looked really bad and Smyth was hobbling down the tunnel when subbed. Down to the bare bones now.

A very comfortable win against a very poor team. You could view the second half as a team cruising to a comfortable win and managing their energy levels in a 3 game week. Or you could view it as a team that just completely switched off and could barely string two passes together in a very frustrating performance that allowed a team, 3 nil down, to dominate. I know which one I think it was.

Thought Varane looked like a different player (in a good way) when he came on.
I’m getting rather exasperated watching yet another game pass Kwame Poku by. He doesn’t do nearly enough for me. I think he’s capable of a lot more.

ps. Yes I am happy that we won.

Fear for Mbengue. Not sure if Lamptey will be available much in the foreseeable future so think we might see Dunne reverting back to RB to cover for Adamson. Hopefully Morrison will be up to it if called upon at CB. Very grateful to have Adamson performing so well at RB atm.

I think we were expected to win this one but needed to come through it without any injuries, and maybe the slightly deflated feeling comes from that and the next few fixtures to come. It's going to be a really big test, and would be even without all of the injuries.

Interesting, I recall that when we bought Kemper, his stats (and previews) suggested he was pretty much going to be a RND. Nothing special, just solid and reliable. At the moment he is a lot more than that.

Yeah, dont think RND does that cutback. Offered v little going forward (something like one assist all season?). Last two games Boy has been immense.

I'm not blaming anyone apart from maybe the ref, but I am actually p*ssed off that we didn't get the 4-0 to go above Brum, because that was the target I had in mind before the match and we'd got there perfectly before the f*cking injury curse hit.

Still, bloody good performance by the team and credit again to the manager - the opposition was feeble but a makeshift front line still put four past them and coulda shoulda had five.

Not a gripe, more an observation - probably badly worded.

Time wasting comment relates to the speeding up of the game by cracking down on throw ins and goal kicks rather than the genuine injuries.

Point was more about the added time potentially adding to even more injuries…we are just making it worse when squads are already stretched thin.

I very much enjoyed the game overall. Lots of good stuff, first half in particular.

Easy. As long as they let us use mobility scooters.

The scooters are in for a REDACTED period of servicing and will not be back before the (unspecified) international break, when they may get stuck on one side of the pitch with no grass.
