Loan Players - Update 09:47 - Oct 26 with 5101 viewsMarkofthegrove

Playing regularly
Cory Adjetey-Brew (Worthing, 4th, National League)
19 apps (14 league, 4 FA Youth Cup, 1 National League Cup) · 4 goals, 2 assists · 1,672 mins. The standout so far. He’s the most-used loanee by a distance and is putting up good numbers.

Jaiden Putman (Woking, 13th, National League)
13 apps (10 league, 3 National League Cup) · 2 assists · 850 mins · 6 starts
He wasn’t in the starting XI at first but was starting by mid-September. He was sent off three weeks ago and came straight back into the team on Saturday, playing the full 90 at centre-back in an away win at Scunthorpe.

Daniel Bennie (Dundee United, 4th, Scottish Premiership)
11 apps · 1 goal, 1 assist · 595 mins
He’s involved most weeks at a team near the top of the league, but he hasn’t completed a full 90 yet.

Fringe or mixed
Emmerson Sutton (Worthing, 4th, National League)
7 apps (5 league, 1 National League Cup, 1 Premier League Cup for QPR) · 1 goal (National League Cup, in a start)
He has only one league start and 99 league minutes.

Kieran Morgan (Bradford, 3rd, League One)
5 apps · 0 goal contributions
In the league he’s had only two sub appearances (28 and 9 mins), but he has played the full 90 in three cup games.

Ziyad Larkeche (Barnsley, 23rd, League One)
4 apps · 0 goal contributions
He’s been taken off at half-time twice, but both times as part of a triple change. He started and played 88 minutes in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat.

Struggling for minutes
Jaylan Pearman (Swindon, 14th, League Two)
6 apps (4 league, 2 EFL Trophy) · 0 goal contributions
He was taken off at half-time in his only league start.

Philip Sanyaolu (Bristol Rovers, 15th, League Two)
4 apps (2 league, 2 EFL Trophy) · 0 goal contributions
He was taken off at half-time in his only league start. Otherwise he’s been an unused sub every game, apart from two where he wasn’t in the matchday squad.

Joe Walsh (Wigan, 24th, League One)
He dropped out of the team before the end of August and hasn’t played since.

Tylon Smith (New England Revolution, 2nd, Eastern Conference)
He hasn’t made an MLS appearance yet.

Was at Bhoys v Arabs last night. Bennie came on as a second half substitute to big cheers from their fans so they obviously rate him. Played out on the left and put himself about a bit. Celtic were putting them under the cosh by that time, equalising and then searching relentlessly for a winner. Good point for Utd considering they haven't won at Celtic Park for 34 years. Certainly a different animal to the side I saw defeated at Tynecastle in August and it appears Bennie's a big part of it. On the surface, seems like a successful loan experience for him.

Great to see him doing so well but this is non-league, bring him back soon and loan out to league 1 or 2 and see if he can progress there.

Obviously he'll need to perform at a higher level before we decide he's going to be our starting LB for the next decade. But he's an 18 year old getting his first professional games in, and he's playing every minute and turning into a bit of a star in a pretty good team for the level. We're far better off with him playing every week in a team that's succeeding than doing 10-minute bit parts in League One.

I remain convinced that several of them would be better off being here, training and mixing with the first team, maybe being named as a sub now and again and playing regularly for the Devt Squad.

For those that are not getting much playing time, yes to recalling them in January. They can either be on the fringes of the 1st team with a few match day squad appearances or get them new loans elsewhere.

Morgan, Pearman and Sanyaolu are imo good enough for more playing time at other clubs. The latter 2 can maybe go and play in the National League as well.

Agree that it us good for CAB to get first team football there. He is 18 and it is a good level for that age.

My question is this, is he a left back or a left winger. As already mentioned, Bale started out as a left back, but really came on as a world class attacking player after a couple of seasons at Spurs.

Saka also started in the Arsenal first team as a left back before switching to the right wing.
