Hill about to leave Bolton? on 09:34 - Jun 12 with 5114 views | SuddenLad | Love him or loathe him, expecting them to retain League One status was a ridiculous idea. Never a chance, yet they now find themselves in the division where the duo have a fabulous record, yet they are likely to be pitched overboard before the next season gets off the ground. And who TF is Tobias Phoenix? Sounds like a hot 70's porn star ! Seems like they, as a club, haven't yet finished plumbing the depths. [Post edited 12 Jun 2020 9:34]

To bias Phoenix sounds ideal for a club just down the road

Hill about to leave Bolton? on 09:42 - Jun 12 with 5080 views | NorthernDale | Since the day he was appointed, KH as never been popular, because many of them believe the club is too big to have somebody like KH managing them and KH can be abrasive as we recognise. The fact is we put up with comments and behaviour, because we recognise his achievements at the Dale. KH as also been critical of the youth system at Bolton and wanted it reorganised, which apparently upset the people in the youth set up, who included David Lee and Nicky Spooner, both ex-Bolton players. Some Bolton recognise that he was given a difficult role in that he had to assemble a squad from free transfers, but many others have simply not got over the fact that they where in league 1 and being Bolton did not win every game in league 1 against the lesser teams, like Accy and the Dale. I believe that if they keep KH, he was use his experience to get them promoted, but his unpopularity among the fans may be his undoing.

Phoenix or Flitcroft? I think hiring the DOF was never going to go down too well with KH. I'm not sure what his next move is beyond this to be honest.

Indeed - you have to wonder if Bolton are over the Hill (in more ways than one) the man himself may be too? Perhaps a "break glass in case of emergency" option for a struggling L2 club next year that needs a shot in the arm?

I always remember the last time (the time before this season just gone!) we played at the Macron. Their fans spent most of the game booing their own team just because they weren’t beating little Rochdale. We were in the playoffs at the time! It just shows how toxic a fanbase can become when they perceive themselves as bigger than they are, and how they believe they have a right to be beating smaller sides regardless of footballing merit. Terrible fans.
Hill about to leave Bolton? on 13:14 - Jun 12 with 4449 views | boromat | They have a manager and an assistant manager that between them have 3? promotions out of LG2. If they can afford to keep them I think they'd be the best option.

And yet, they were magnificent when we played their kids in the cup at Spotland. Same fans...different expectation levels.
Hill about to leave Bolton? on 14:19 - Jun 12 with 4264 views | NorthernDale | I think that must fans would agree that Keith was a pain in the backside at times, but at league 1 and 2, he is a manager who knows what he is doing and for any team in league 2, you need a KH, who will create a team that would be challenging for promotion. Sadly many Bolton fans cannot see this, I have no doubt if they let go, he will get another job at this level,

Bolton fans welcomed Hill with open arms so the narrative that they think the club is too big for him is a myth. The reason a lot of them have fallen out with him is his attitude, surely Dale fans more than any should understand this. The difference is Hill had banked a lot of good will with us before he started spouting his nonsense.
Hill about to leave Bolton? on 16:21 - Jun 12 with 3985 views | electricblue | I know a family of Bolton fans and grew up with 2 of them all they way through school and they are bolton through n through. It was their grand father who started the Bolton love in and he used to take his lads to the old Burnden Park and helped out at the dog track aswell.... Anyway when the rumour was going around that Hill was to be their manager they said then he wouldnt last as a section of the supporters are never happy... But Hill got the job and my mates where rather happy about it, a manager of the lower lge who knew what its all about and they where even happier that flickcroft joined aswell... I always bumped into them and asked 'hows hilly doing'... He needs a couple of seasons to make his mark and if he gets his players he vould see Bolton being a top 4 team and possible play off contenders and with a bit of luck promotion.... If Bolton did end up in the Championship Hill n Flickers would be out anyway as the club dont see them as championship management...... I have not seen them since prelock down to find out anything.....

Hill about to leave Bolton? on 16:28 - Jun 12 with 3960 views | EllDale | It was a bit of a poisoned chalice with that points deduction but to be honest I expected results to be better once they signed that glut of players. So did their fans after the honeymoon period had worn off. Their fans certainly didn't expect to be letting in seven at Accrington or losing to us at home. I understand as well that Hillcroft had clauses written into their contracts which allowed for their jobs to be reviewed if the club went down which will make their position precarious now.
Hill about to leave Bolton? on 17:15 - Jun 12 with 3808 views | ChaffRAFC | Bolton and their fans knew what Hill was like regarding being outspoken so to get rid now seems very harsh. They were never ever going to stay up and they should have been allowed to build for next season in League Two.

Hill about to leave Bolton? on 17:52 - Jun 12 with 3653 views | D_Alien | Despite being a right pain in his last 2/3 seasons at Dale, i don't think KH deserves this Given what he brought to Dale during his two periods as manager, i wish him every success for the future; Flickers too, again, despite some of the nonsense he spouted whilst at bury I'd be pleased to see either one or both of them take over a team in L2 next season which pipped Bolton out of a promotion/play off spot. That would certainly be deserved

Hill about to leave Bolton? on 18:55 - Jun 12 with 3390 views | BartRowou | I know a few Oldham fans who'd have him there tomorrow. I always thought he was above that but his stock's taken a battering and now I think they'd be a good match for each other despite the odd boardroom goings on at BP.
