Won't Dale be staying in a hotel not too far from Plough Lane overnight?

Can't decide whether i'd mind this fixture being postponed. Our position is so precarious, its definitely a must-not-lose game. Who knows if BBM's position is also precarious? It is with the fans, but we don't make the decisions; we can only try to influence them the best we can

NB: realise this is on the Refwatch thread but the weather makes the game itself precarious

There are already a load of games off tomorrow, many involving long distances, so I would imagine ours would have gone today as well had there been any problems.

Cue a 10am PP tomorrow...

If a game gets postponed do the home team get a fine in certain circumstances?

Dons put pitch covers down on Monday, all depends whether the covers will protect the pitch well enough - been well below zero last two nights and again tonight.

No, although what circumstances do you mean, James?

If it's Blackpool, their fans just blame clubs for trying to avoid playing them, rather than something to do with a global pandemic.

for example a temperature threshold for a frozen pitch. If the game is called of due to a frozen pitch and the temperature is above - 3 degrees there is a fine but below that the club wouldn't have been expected to get the game on so no fine.

No, there aren't fines for pitch issues.

Cheers fingers crossed the game goes ahead. Be a shame to have wasted money on the hotel.

I don’t think that there are fines for postponements due to weather but in certain circumstances the home team may liable for any costs incurred by the visitors if they have travelled when they could have been prevented from doing so if an inspection had been held in good time.
This is why so many games are called off before the away team has set off.
There have been plenty of occasions in the past as well where the pitch has been playable but approaches to the ground have been unsafe. Unfair to blame the clubs for that.
