Not sure you can blame a gash on Beesleys foot on backroom staff? O'Connell has had hamstring issues before and Humphrys has played a lot of games in a very short period after being out with his knee. Its just one of those things - players get injured. |  |

Probably similar to the McLaughlin situation against Wigan. Hope to get through the game without risking him but if disaster strikes, he has to come on. Another indictment of a small, depleted squad, sadly. |  |

Yes they were good efforts. In the main though, we have reverted to type. Backwards passing as there is no out ball - and a big gap between our centre halves, which is worrying me no end as Gillingham press (as they did at our place). The plan, given the available personnel, needs to be to keep it tight and pray for something on the counter. A point here would be very welcome.
Interesting that the Gills commentators picked up on our weaknesses within five minutes. I pray they’re not exploited. | |
