Just had word that the club are doing the drill and fill by hand today. Anyone with an hour or two to spare is welcome, badly needed, as it's a time consuming business.
I think the general aim is to whack in one hole per square yard about 2-3 feet down and then fill with kiln dried sand.
Given that the pitch is around 8000 square yards the club needs help.

Well the local ref this morning said it's playable and not much has changed since then - it's been covered all day. It looks shit but it isn't frozen or waterlogged - if we can't play tonight they may as well close the stadium for the season and find somewhere else to play. |
I wouldn't be playing a game on that pitch, not a Sunday league match never mind one of this importance. |  |

The pitch looks like a ploughed field infact photo shop out the stands and you would not know it is supposed to be a football pitch.
Wonder if the FA are applying pressure to get it played.....
Not playable in my opinion gods knows what the condition of the pitch will be come 9-30pm [Post edited 6 Feb 2018 17:03]

If it does go ahead let's hope the Millwall players on seeing the pitch get the wobbles, I wonder how many will really go full tilt on that surface? | |
