Young keeper coming in on loan from City. Gavin Bazuna is I think his name.
Very highly rated by City.

We were spoilt last season with the loan signing of RND. Be an unlikely, but very welcome surprise, if we get that lucky this season.

If England can name a 24 man squad with no left back, we can do without too.

I would go for Sam Hart, but I would not be surprised if Bunney suddenly signed.

I'm sure Rose and Bertrand would have done a job for these two games. Although out of position Saka would have been an interesting pick.

Think the most likely loan signing at fullback is going to be Luke, could probably do a very good job as a right winger as well.

Wolves loaned him back last year, so I suspect they felt that was beneficial to him and his development, and the likelihood is he will not not have improved due to the limited amount of football he has played in the last 9m.

He is probably not ready for premier or even championship football yet, still very young, is still studying locally, knows the club and staff and would be played regularly.

Think a loan until January is very likely, with maybe a full season if it suits both parties. Of course there is the wages issue, but would not shock me at all if they paid all his wages and we reduced the sell on clause by 5% for example, if he joined for the season.

It would be nice to see him in a Dale shirt again. Covid robbed so many of so much. The premature end to the L1 campaign meant we never got a proper chance to show our appreciation and recognise his outstanding season and that goal at OT, which got us all, just for a quarter of an hour, wondering if.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Training with the first team at City will have immensely benefited Bazunu. Matt Gilks in his Fitz interview said dualing against the quickness with which premier league players get their shots away was the biggest learning curve, when stepping up.
Wish him all the best wether that is as a starter or pushing Lynch to be on his metal every game.
I do wonder what Wade makes of this, he is pushed out by a keeper of a similar age. He signed a 3 year contract mind so he doesn’t have the financial worries of plenty of other youngsters at this time.

The way that we set up at times last year with a midfielder sitting between the two centre backs and the two fullbacks moving forward mean that whoever plays on the flanks needs good attacking qualities.
Did I read somewhere that RND had great stats concerning crosses delivered?

In terms of Wade my gut feel is that there will be a development plan for the lad involving further loans to decent National League clubs to build on his experience last season at Guiseley . As you say , he has the security of the three year contract , and that provides time to build him into a far stronger long term prospect through planned exposure to wider experience . I'm optimistic about him for the future on that basis .

No surprise, I doubt City would've loaned him out to sit on the bench. Let's hope he's more Bobby Sanchez than Joel Pereira.

Seems a great prospect from the reviews and videos I've seen. Hopefully it could give us the opportunity to build stronger ties with City and loan some more youth in the future too.

On the subject of Lynch- I'm not convinced he'll ever be a number 1 here. He's probably for me been BBM's strangest signing as what he lacks- mainly command of his area and a bit of height- are the exact weaknesses Lillis had. Granted I presume his wage will be much less.

Lynch is better with the ball at his feet than Lillis. I do agree with you that he lacks the height and physical presence to be a true number one keeper. I also suspect he is on much less than Lillis.

As others have posted hopefully Wade will get some game time on loan in the lower league. I may have imagined this but isn't there a keeper in the youth team who is highly rated?

I wonder if - and this is only a guess - that we signed him thinking that Lillis was going elsewhere, only for it to fall through?

I hope we do better by him than we did Diba. Always thought we got it wrong with Jonny he was a great prospect.
