I really liked Widdowson. Had the defensive and attacking mix just right.

Being weak in the tackle, poor passes or clearances that lack conviction. I don’t see other teams doing the same thing as often as we do.

His contract is up this summer. Barnsley and Sunderland have enquired about taking him this month. [Post edited 19 Jan 2021 20:25]

Kevin Formby 😂 I didn't mind Jason Peake at left back definitely better in the middle though. Lee Todd was decent when he wasn't attempting goalkeeper saves. Back to the game how have their defenders not had a booking for their fouls against Baah. Been so many now.

Liked peake but he was scared of tackling. Surprised nobody has mentioned the left back that every team needs 😂

as I said earlier - if we're going to lose I'd rather it was entertaining & that we'd at least scored. Thought we played this 'new' system very well (Dooley my MOM, Rathbone had great 2nd half), were a bit unlucky with ricochets and some weak refereeing and Doncaster are a good side.

finished 1-0, plenty of endeavour but apart from a few attacks at the end Rovers defended their lead quite comfortably. Mclaughlin looked good as did most of the defence. Baah good in spells but then drifts out too often. A couple of great runs from him and he does track back a bit more ( except for the goal). Hopefully if he starts a few more games he'll really develop wonder what happened to Jake? went down without anyone around him & looked in real pain at first

Referee had a decent game apart from protecting Baah. They were all soft fouls but the repeated bringing him down should have meant bookings. A tight match that I think we played very well in we were never out of the game and Donny were fortunate to take the 3 points it really could have gone either way. Yes it wasn't the type of exciting game we've had recently but it's what we needed. Couple of special mentions firstly Dooley given him stick over the last week or so but he played well tonight in the main. He does seem to be a confidence player so hopefully he can build on that. Secondly Morley for a young lad who is definitely not a centre back he was superb tonight very calm and played very well. You could argue he was still a threat as well with some of his balls forward. Match Thread: Doncaster vs Rochdale on 21:02 - Jan 19 with 1410 views | milnrowblue | Can’t be too disheartened at tonight’s result. Doncaster could possibly go top if they win their games in hand on Hull, so that’s a 1-0 loss away to what we can consider title challengers. However, 2 wins in 14 in the league isn’t good reading. A left back, cover at right back and centre back, a strong holding mid the priorities in my opinion - 2 out of the 4 and I’ll be happy, and we might just stay afloat.

Can't argue with any of that but entertainment was in pretty short supply and the pendulum probably swung too far from attack to defence. We have to be able to do both. Bit too easy for Donny tonight.

And looking on the bright side, we're better off than we were at 7pm as we've gained three goals on AFC Wimbledon. Happy days.....
